Disclaimer: My Hero Academia doesn't belong to me.
A/N: I see a lot of people saying they can't like Bakugou because he made the "swan dive" comment to Midoriya. I'm not saying it's ok to say things like that, but Bakugou is the kind of guy that screams "Die germs" when he brushes his teeth, even Midoriya isn't overly bothered by it.
Consider this a missing scene.
"Let me through!" Bakugou screamed, shouldering his way through the crowd. The twisting in his stomach was unbearable.
Please God let me be wrong.
He reached the barricade of police tape and outstretched arms. And what he saw made him want to howl.
Deku. Quirkless, starry-eyed Deku, lying in a motionless heap with his neck at an angle that was just wrong.
'You did this.' Bakugou's conscience whispered to him as he stared helplessly into Midoriya's glassy eyes. 'Take a swan dive off the roof and maybe you'll be a hero in your next life.'
Bakugou turned and ran. Furious, guilty tears burned his eyes.
"Damn you Deku! I'd never have said that if I thought you'd actually do it! I hate you!"
I hate you!
Bakugou bolted upright in bed, dripping in cold sweat. For one wild moment, he didn't know where he was. The sound of laughter from the common room grounded him.
He was at the UA dorm room. He'd said he wanted an early night and stormed off to bed instead of watching the movie with everyone else, some stupid horror flick.
No scary movie would ever affect him like that dream just had. He pressed one hand to his roiling stomach and another to his mouth.
He hated Deku's presence. But Deku's absence was too much to bear.
"DEKU, YOU BASTARD!" He roared, leaping out of bed and throwing the door open.
He stomped into the common room, ignoring the surprised looks on his classmates' faces. He was solely focused on the green-haired, freckly nerd. He was nestled on the couch between Engine guy and Uraraka, smiling and laughing quietly, until he caught the look on Bakugou's face.
"Kacchan!" Midoriya exclaimed, looking nervous, "What's wrong, what did I do?!"
There was a moment of silence as Bakugou frantically cast his mind around for a reason.
"You're being too damn loud!" He bellowed, holding up his sparking fists. "Don't you know people are trying to sleep?!"
"Sorry Kacchan!" Midoriya cried, "I'll try not to laugh so loud!"
"Good!" Bakugou spun and stomped back to his room. "You damn nerd!"
He slammed the door and slumped to the floor, breathing heavily.
Kirishima broke the tension with a laugh.
"I think that's my cue to go to bed, if that's what he's like when he's tired, we better not disturb him anymore!"
The group dissipated with a few more laughs and good-natured digs. A set of footsteps sounded outside Bakugou's door and stopped.
"Good night Kacchan." Midoriya murmured.
Bakugou growled in irritation.
Damn Deku.
