writer. You all know who the characters were thought up by, so don't
pretend you don't. If there is anyone that you don't know, then I guess
they are mine, but that isn't always the case either. *shrugs* Also I am
well aware that this is rather short, I hope all additional chapters aren't
this short, but that just may not be avoidable.
Expectations: (A working title) Introduction
When you are not expecting anything to happen that is the moment something does. For Hermione she wasn't looking for love. That is not to say she wasn't looking for a good time, it was just love that she was not looking for.
The list of her partners is not large but not small by any stretch. She plays around with them, sure, but when they start to get serious about her she let's them go. So imagine her surprise when she was the one who started to fall in love. The more she tried to push him away, the more he held on to her.
A little about him, now, if you will. He knew her when she was in school, obviously, with him being one of her professors. He didn't think of her in any romantic way when she was in school, so he didn't concern himself with what she did after. She was smart, no denying that, and he was sure she would do something great with herself if she wanted.
Oh yes, he was very surprised when he found out she was pursuing a career in potion, and that she was going to graduate where he matriculated. Now let's, again, not get ahead of ourselves here, he was -not- following her in anyway. He found out about her pursuing potions mistress from his old school reunion newsletter. So during those six years she was at university Severus heard nothing more about her, not did he care to hear anything; she was just a former student, why should he care? And when you look back it is really a good thing he didn't follow her life around that time.
At university Hermione averaged about one and a half lovers a year. This, as was stated before, was because she wanted to live and have fun, not become seriously involved in a relationship. She was at university to get an education not a husband. Which may be why, after graduation and a few flings, when she ran into her old professor from Hogwarts, she may have been ready to open her heart finally. But, again, I am getting ahead of the story, so let's actually start off when they first pet for the second time.
