Kate sits at a table by hersef at the Java Cafe, staring at the huge diamond rock that her fiancee, John Black, put on her finger. She couldn't believe that she was engaged to one of the richest men in the country, and not only was he rich, he was sexy. Kate couldn't help but daydream about him 24/7. She loved him so much. She thought about him touching her, kissing her, and making love to her. Some people would call that obsession or just plain crazy, but Kate called it love.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Billie calling her name.
"Mom? Mom? You there?" Billie asked, waving her hand in front of Kate's face.
"Oh... Oh. Billie? What are you doing here?" She asked, snapping out of her daydream.
"I could ask you the same thing. Where were you just now?" She asked sitting down at the table with Kate.
"Oh. Nowhere. Just daydreaming." She pushes her hair out of her face, showing the ring on her finger. Billie grabbed her hand and stared in awe at the huge ring on Kate's finger.
"Mom! Oh my gosh! Is that what I think it is?" Billie asked still staring at the ring.
"Yeah. John proposed to me last night!" Kate said, also looking at the ring.
"John? Whoa! John proposed to you?" Billie dropped Kate's hand and opened her eyes wide.
"Yeah."
"How?... Why?... Are you two even in love?"
Kate laughs, "Yes, we're in love. The proposal was so romantic, even though it was at an airport."
"Really? Wow! I can't believe it." Billie looked up and saw John standing behind Kate with flowers in his hand. He leaned forward and kissed Kate on her forehead and Kate looked up and smiled. He handed her the flowers and kissed her again, this time on her lips. He pulled a chair up to the table and sat inbetween Kate and Billie.
"Hey beautiful!" John said.
"Hey yourself. What are you doing here?" Kate asked blushing as she smelled the flowers.
"I just came to surprise you."
Billie looked at the two of them and smiled, happy that her mom and John are together, "You two are so cute together. Hold on, let me get my camera!" Billie pulled her digital camera out of her purse and John and Kate laughed at Billie. They posed as Billie held the camera, ready to take the picture. The camera flashed and took the picture of them. She let them see the picture and Kate smiled at seeing how cute they really were together.
"Thanks Billie, I think."
"No problem. Well, I'll see you two lovebirds later. Bye." She kissed her mom on the cheek and left.
"Maybe we should get out of here too." John winked at Kate and held out his hand to her.
"Yeah. Let's go home." Kate and John got their things together and left.
