Title: Damning

Summary: The night of the occurrence of the werewolf from another point of view.

Chapter One

The night's darkened mist blew against the windows of the house. It thickness was startling to the eyes of any gazers upon the nights misery. The misery was called so for a number of reasons. Maybe the first was not the most important but it did certainly add to the nights atmosphere.

The mist was definitely a factor as was the wind that blew it in swarms that attacked the near by house. The cold temperature could also have been a cause, as it allowed the nights air to condensate on the windows, allowing the water to drip eerily down the pane staining it with everlasting darkness and reflection. Maybe the most important factor was the great orb in the sky, hanging down as if held by a string, allowing the unknowing to expect it to sway with the wind.

It was the orb of light, the mother of the night, though the caring and caressing beams that she sowed would spell disaster for the this night. And for one boy many others. It was not expected on this hallow night that one such occurrence would happen. The motion of the events were not set in stone but the chance of it was damning for all.

When many others were sleeping and dreaming of the days to come, unintentionally intentionally blocking out this night. With it's mist and wind and cold and orb. Which were frightening to even the most confident adult. One small boy sat in his room staring to the reflection being painted on the window that he wished to gaze out of. His worries were head towards another dilemma as most children do not focus on the reality before the nightmare. However this night the nightmare of others would become this child's reality.

The contradicting dilemma within this boy's head related to a promise. This promise was held sacred in his heart for he wished to keep the favour of his Father. It was based around a book, for the child wished to read it in the day that was passed only a few moments ago. While he had read it in earnest, he had read it outside in the garden under a large elm tree. In his lateness he had left it outside. This would set the disaster its final key, that would allow it to take place.

The boy slipped out of his bed, allowing the ruby covering to bunch on it as he walked toward the window to try and view the elm tree outside where the book rested. However the water on the window only showed his his face, white with the fear of losing the book and his honey coloured hair dripping down into his startling blue eyes in shame. His decision was made at that moment, that damning decision.

He crept out of his room expertly dodging the creaky floorboards that were unequally based around the stairs from years of use. The light that illuminated his way was the faded beams from the mother orb glancing through the windows as if to look upon the boy for herself and he continued his journey through the house to the door that opened onto the garden and trees that surrounded his home. At this point the boy hesitated, keeping his hand on he handle that was already pushed down and all was needed was a pull on the door to open it. His hesitation was a remembering of being told not to go outside in the dark alone on any day since it was not safe. However his decision of which promise to follow was clearly know as he pulled the door open was all the force he had and tumbled out into the miserable night.
