Chapter 1
Thea sighed as she put down the phone. Thierry really didn't need this at the moment, not with the supposed fourth wild power dead from a night world attack and the fact that Hannah had gone home for the holidays. Turning to the group Thea told them what she had just learnt.
"That was Rashel on the phone. She's found one of her cousins, a girl called Holly Winters. And I hope you don't mind Thierry but I said you wouldn't mind if the girl stays here for a while, apparently she's in a bit of trouble with the schools. She's been kicked out of three of them in 2 years."
On hearing this Ash groaned, "Great, just what this place needs, another temperamental, rude, stubborn, pigheaded vampire hunter!"
"Um, she doesn't know about the Night World just yet, ok?" Thea mumbled.
"Well, I can't say it's the best time but as long as she stays out of the way, it's fine." Thierry said, standing up, "Good night everyone. I will see you in the morning." quickly turned and walk out of the room.
"Man, he really is depressed." Commented Lupe, before leaving the room herself, while Ash, Poppy, James and Thea remained.
As Holly walked through the house she couldn't help but be amazed, it was huge. It wasn't a house really, it was a mansion. The staircase seemed to spiral upwards forever with endless levels leading of it. Just as she got to them, she heard voices and laughter coming from a room down one of the many hallways. Interested, Holly began to walk towards it. Stepping close she listened.
"Ash! What the hell do you think your doing?" demanded a rather annoyed female voice.
"Having fun, what's it look like?" another voice muttered, probably the one called Ash. Holly was turning away when she heard the last comment from someone else in the room.
"Well, truthfully? It looks like your letting a rabbit run around this room before your going your eat it and I should mention that its covered in blood, so could you just kill it? Please?"
Holly stopped dead, frozen at that last comment. What the hell did it mean? Shaking her head she tried to tell herself that the voice was only joking but it sounded so calm and honest. Shaking her head once more Holly returned to the stairs, waiting for her cousin to come get her like the butler had told her she would.
She was standing there wondering about what her cousin and her friends would be like and hoping that they wouldn't be total weeps. She couldn't stand that.
"Hey, Holly!"
Holly's head snapped up startled by the voice. She turned quickly, trying not to show that she had been startled. Standing there was a girl and a boy about her own age starring at her.
"You are Holly, right?" the girl asked, looking kind of embarrassed. The boy beside her gave Holly a small smile while he too looked embarrassed at having to ask such a question.
"Yeah, that's me."
The girl grinned, relieved "I'm Thea and this is my so- boyfriend, Eric. Rashel had to go away for the weekend but she'll be back next week. Come on I'll show you your room."
Oh god, what have I done to deserve this? Holly thought following the bubbly Thea up the stairs.
