When Caleb first appeared on the show, Hanna already knew who he was. I always wondered how they met. This is just a little something I imagined. This is my first time writing for Pretty Little Liars, so cut me a little slack. ;) Hope you enjoy!

… … … … … … … … … … … … … …

"Damnit!"

She resisted the urge to hurl her cell phone at the wall of lockers next to her. This was not the time for technology to fail her; she knew Aria was eagerly awaiting her call. Her phone tended to freeze up every so often, usually at the worst possible times. But these days, not returning a call could be a red flag.

Not wanting to keep her friend worrying, Hanna scanned the hallway for any boy that might be willing to lend a pretty girl his cell phone. She spotted a tall boy with shaggy brown hair a few yards down the hallway.

"Hey!" she called as she quickly approached him.

"Can I...help you?" he said hesitantly once she reached him.

"Yes, actually you can. Can I borrow your phone? It's important."

"What's wrong with yours?" he asked, pointing to the cell phone in her right hand.

"Broken, obviously," she said in frustration. "I guess that's a no." She rolled her eyes and turned to leave.

"Wait!" he said, stopping her in her tracks. "I didn't mean it like that." She saw him reach into his back pocket. "You can use mine," he said, holding a cell phone on the palm of his hand. "But what's wrong with yours? I might be able to fix it."

"Oh," she said, feeling slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, I—"

"It's okay," he said, chuckling lightly. "Here." He placed his phone in her left hand, then held his hand out for hers.

Her hand brushed his lightly as she rested her phone in his grasp, and she felt a shiver go down her spine.

"It's….frozen," she said slowly, looking up at his face. She found herself mesmerized by his warm, chocolate eyes. Then she looked down to his lips to see a small smile forming.

"I'll see what I can do," he said with a nod.

"Great!" she said quickly, snapping herself out of the sudden stupor she had fallen into. She looked around to find a private spot to make her call. "I'll make it quick," she added, holding up his phone as she begun to walk down the hallway.

A few minutes later, Hanna had reached Aria and all was well.

"Everything okay?" the boy ask when she returned to him.

"Yeah, everything's great," Hanna said with a smile. She held the cell phone out to him. "Thanks, uh—"

"Caleb," he finished, taking his phone.

"Caleb," she repeated.

"You're welcome, Hanna," he answered with a playful smile.

"How do you know my name?" she asked, raising an eyebrow curiously.

"I have your phone," he reminded her, holding the white cell phone up for her to see.

"Nosy!" she said with exaggerated shock.

"I like to get to know my customers," he said with a shrug.

"Well did you fix it?" she asked with a light chuckle.

"I did," he answered, holding the phone out to her. "You shouldn't have anymore problems with freezing."

"Wow, thanks," she said, taking the phone back from him. "You said customer…does that mean I have to pay you?" she joked.

"First service is free," he answered. "But next time…"

"Well if you did your job there shouldn't be a next time," Hanna pointed out.

"Unfortunately, you're right."

Hanna smiled shyly, looking to the ground. "I should…"

"Go," he finished. "It was nice to meet you, Hanna."

"You too."

Hanna turned from Caleb and started down the hallway. She bit her lower lip, trying in vain to conceal the grin that sprung to her face.
