In the Mobius Solar cycle of 2442, there stood a peaceful dimension where furries of all walks lived in harmony. The planet existed in a parallel dimension from that of Terra, as life had taken a very different evolutionary step that enabled woodland animals to become the dominant masters of the planet. However, there existed one human in this dimension, long exiled from Terra that stood to conquer Mobius, and roboticize the population to do his biddings.
Dr. Ivo Robotnik, known as "Eggman" to the general population, had long been thwarted, and was now old, tired and gray. In his middle age, he had spent countless battles and effort against the creatures of Mobius, but to no avail. He was always thwarted by one, blue Hedgehog.
Sonic the Hedgehog, was in fact, the recognized hero of Mobius. Long ago he had defeated Eggman in a decisive battle that left him crippled, no longer able to run, and losing his trademark speed. In that decisive battle, Eggman was defeated mentally, and lost the will to continue his attack on the population.
So he exiled himself, ironic in that he had already been exiled to Mobius, into the woods of Mobotropolis, and has not been heard from in twenty years…
In Mobotropolis itself, however, there stood a larger issue than that of super criminals. Corruption in politics. The Acorn family dynasty had sold out long ago, becoming puppets to corporate donors who wished to maintain low amounts of regulation in the cities, enabling high levels of corruption, bribery and the like. The Acorn family was now recognized as a Mobster Politico family.
But there was one Acorn who still pushed for a progressive agenda. Sally Acorn. She was recognized as a political insider-outsider by the people, who were looking for much change in the election of 2443. When she chose not to run, there was great dismay from the people of Mobotropolis.
"Who will become the next President?" Many wondered.
Many had expected that Sally would run, and this left a lot of questions unanswered.
One day, in the same shock that the people received when Sally decided not to run, there stood one candidate poised to take the election by storm.
Doctor Eggman had returned. He asked that his past transgressions be forgiven, and that he be given a chance to run in the election. He promised many things on his campaign, such as no more outsourcing trade deals that took away jobs from Mobotropolis to other cities, a better living wage, and to get money out of politics. His message was received well by the furries, who were ready to have hope in anything after a generation of corruption.
Throughout his campaign, things started to get a bit strange. He promised to not only remove money out of politics, but also to have the former congress killed for years of stagnant growth. This was met with praise by the furries. He promised to bring back jobs, even if it meant starting wars with other countries. This was met with praise by the furries. He promised to single handedly solve all the issues that plagued the country, painting himself as a savior of the people. He also began discriminating against the lesser populations. The poor, the drug abusers, anyone that had come into the country illegally, he outed as dissidents that were stealing resources and ruining the nation. Riots became common place. Immigrants and minorities were attacked on the daily.
The election was not even over, and Eggman's world was slowly becoming reality.
"I should have tried this years ago!" – He said with a smile at a campaign Rally, after a poor furry was kicked out simply because his clothes were in tethers.
This, was the new normal. Or so it seemed.
