Prologue: A Wish
Normal POV:
What is love? Love is something that every human needs in order to survive but a certain girl is very deprived of it, Kawanami Sayori. Her life in the Kawanami household never started out love deprived. She was very well loved by her family, which consists of her parents and her siblings. They cared for her and concerned about every little thing that happened to her. Sadly, everything changed after the mother of the Kawanami household gave birth to a newborn baby. The happy life that Sayori lead was no more. Her family's attention is directed to their newest member of the family. Sayori was left feelings lonely and love deprived. Sayori is considered as a shy girl both in school and in her social circle. She rarely talks at all when she is in the presence of her classmates, which makes her a loner in school. Although Sayori is lonely and love deprived, she buries herself in a manga that she has come to like called the Vampire Knight. By reading and dreaming about it relieves herself from the loneliness and the feelings of unloved she feels all the time. Sayori often wishes that she could be Yuki Cross, the main female protagonist in the manga. Before she could continue with her train of thoughts, a knock could be heard. In come her parents and her siblings carrying her baby sister. She looks away and ignores what they say to her. Her parents and sibling is mentioning about how they are stepping out of the house for a while and would be gone until midnight. They never ask about whether if she would like to come along or not. Without waiting for her reply, they close her door and proceed to go wherever they are going.
Sayori's POV:
As I watched them leaving the house, the feeling of loneliness and sadness elevates to a level where I could not withhold within myself. I sprinted out of the house and ran and ran and ran until I reached a park. I sat down on the swing and looks up at the sky, recalling the time when I was the center of the attention of the family. How I loved being with my parents and siblings. How I wished this could last forever. I do not believe in love that would last forever, not anymore. A tear escaped my eyes and was rolling down my cheeks. I realized that I was crying. "How I wish I could start a new life in the world of Vampire Knights. How I wish I could be loved like Yuuki by everyone. How I wish I could be Yuki Cross." I said while crying non-stop. "Your wish is granted." A voice said out of nowhere. I stood up from the swing in search of the voice that I just heard but found nobody. Suddenly a gust of wind appeared out of nowhere and knocked me unconscious.
