PROLOGUE

It only takes a moment for a home to be destroyed.

It only takes a moment for an entire family to be killed.

It only takes a moment for someone to find their life in tatters around them.

It only took Chase Young two months to conquer the planet.

And for 11 years, he had been ruling, if it could be called that.

There were no countries, governments, societies or democracies; just one giant land mass that he watched over.

The world changed to accommodate Chase Young, and slowly, people started finding their place in the new world. They slotted in, like pieces in a puzzle, choosing a comfortable life. Chase's terms were simple; surrender or die.

Those who stood up against him at the start were few and far between, but the ones who did were severely punished. Some rebels were executed, some were sold as slaves; to live and die at their master's whims.

And the only people rumoured to be able to stop the tyrant had slipped into legend.

The Xiaolin Dragons.

Every rebel in the world whispered their names and talked in hushed voices of the magical dragons, with control of the elemental powers, who were said to be powerful enough to defeat Chase Young.

If the stories were to be believed, they had started a giant uprising and tried to thwart Chase Young, but it had failed.

No one knew what had happened to them afterwards, whether they were still out there somewhere.

Many had tried to find them. The only problem was that no one knew what they looked like, where they were, even they were even alive, or if they could stop Chase Young.

Some assumed they were dead.

Some were convinced they had never existed at all.

And others were biding their time, waiting for when the Dragons would surface again, and for the revolution to begin.
