"… And Kaitou Kid has baffled the police again!"

Perhaps it was a tad narcissistic of him to record his heists as he was out but he loved watching the footage. Oh, there was Tantei-kun. Now that he was on TV, Kaito once again saw how small he was. During a heist, he didn't even recognize it. He simply thought of him as his rival, one who could keep up with him. Oh! They were interviewing tantei-kun! Rewind, rewind. There.

"And here is the boy thought of as many as the one closest to catching the Kaitou Kid, Edogawa Conan. Isn't it fitting that the one closest to catching Kid is a kid himself?" The woman chuckled at her joke. "So, Edogawa-kun, how did you hear about this heist?"

"The same way I always do. I heard about the heist note. Hattori-niichan figured it out and told me where to go!"

Liar. Tantei-kun had figured that out himself. He had even told the task force the breakdown of the entire thing when he saw it for the first time.

"Oh. How nice of him! Do you find the heists enjoyable?"

"Yeah! They're really fun! I think Kid-san tries to make it great for the task force and everybody else!"

Tantei-kun was lying a lot! Did he think that Kaito hadn't heard him cursing about the glitter and confetti? Because he most certainly had. He was definitely bringing more now.

"They must be really fun then. But, let's be honest here Edogawa-kun, do you think anyone can catch Kid?"

Tantei-kun was silent for a few seconds and then said, "Why not?"

"Everyone knows how elusive the Kaitou Kid is. Do you think anyone can catch him?"

"Of course. He may be a great magician and an excellent thief but someone will catch him eventually if he continues. The only reason we haven't caught him yet is because he is intelligent. And amazingly lucky. He has to make a mistake some time though. He has a life outside of here too just like all of the rest of us. He isn't a phantom who disappears when the heist is over just to appear at the next one. The thing is he is just like the rest of us. Because, when the curtain falls, he's only human."

And Kaito realized one thing as he sat on his couch. Maybe tantei-kun was the real master at reading people. The room was filled with silence for a second as the newswoman collected herself, obviously not expecting that response. Only Kaito could see the marginal widening of Conan's eye for a split second.

"Well, that's all the time I have for today. Come and watch the next Kaitou Kid heist with us. We'll all be waiting!"

"And we'll catch you next time Kid!" Conan said in a very childlike voice.

Kid smirked. Tantei-kun was lying far too much tonight.

A/N: Well, I was in a writing mood so I wrote this right after "Everything Seems Fine" and decided to post it as well. Neither of them is all that good though. I kind of wished I had added more detail into the other one… Oh well. Maybe I'll edit it later.

This one was inspired by the line I thought of, "Because when the curtain falls, he's only human." I immediately thought of Kaitou Kid and started typing. And here's a story for you lovely readers.

Please review and give me constructive criticism if you can. Flames will be used to burn forests and no one wants that.
