It was a glorious day for Coulson's team. They had just restored S.H.I.E.L.D. from the clutches of Hydra, and they couldn't be happier. Except Coulson. He had a hard time bearing the fact that he created the horrid technology that was used to bring him back from the dead. He kept going back to what he'd discovered the source of Project T.A.H.I.T.I. was, seeing that blue creature in the tube. He also remembered what he'd found out after defeating Hydra: that file revealing the creature's race, planet of origin, and worst of all, how it was discovered and how it connected to one of his agents: Skye. He couldn't keep it secret anymore and told Skye about it.

"Skye." he said.

"Yes, Coulson?" said Skye.

"I have some new information concerning your parents. I'll explain once we land."

"Okay."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Globemaster 6-1-6 landed in Hunan, China, near a patch of land that looked like it once contained a house, but no longer does. Coulson and Skye exited the plane and looked at the empty lot.

"See that over there?" said Coulson, "That's where the Drews lived. Jonathan, Merriam, and their daughter Jessica."

"What happened?" said Skye.

"A small scout ship, belonging to a race of aliens called the Kree, crashed into it, destroying it and causing a small flood of the radiation they live in. The crash killed Jonathan and Merriam, but Jessica survived, though she was exposed to the radiation. It's harmless to humans, but it's what gives the Kree their unique abilities."

"Like what?"

"Superhuman strength, endurance, and healing. Of course, if Jessica were to be exposed to Kree DNA, then the radiation will have had an effect."

"What does all this have to do with my parents?"

"Think about it. Anything with that unusual radioactive signature would be classified as an 0-8-4." Skye thought about it for a moment and came to the same conclusion Coulson had.

"I'm–"

"Jessica Drew. There's more to it than that, though. The Kree had been experimenting with arachnid DNA. The one we recovered from the crash and used to make the G.H. 235 drug had traces of spider DNA in his system. The augmented DNA combined with that radiation not only healed you, but it also mutated you. You should have spider-like abilities now if I'm not mistaken."

"Should I—"

"Test it out? Go right ahead." Skye placed her hand on the wall of the now-vacant house next door. She felt her hand secrete some sort of adhesive substance that stuck her hand to the wall. She then secreted a substance that dissolved the adhesive and she removed her hand from the wall.

"Wall crawling." said Coulson, "Anyone trying to emulate a spider should be able to do that."

"What else can I do?" said Skye.

"I don't know." Coulson then noticed some slight electrical sparks on Skye's hand, "But I can guess that you have some sort of electrokinesis." Skye looked at her hand and saw the sparks. She pointed at a metal gutter and let off a small discharge.

"I think it'll only sting some." she said.

"Just pretend it's your venom power," Coulson said, "though it's probably just a Kree thing, not spider-related.

"Anything else?"

"Well, some spiders use pheromones to fool their prey. I think that's how you were able to convince Ward to turn on Hydra."

"I cannot believe this." she said in awe of her newfound abilities, "Where do I go from here?"

"Wherever you want. You can become a performer, you can join the Avenger Initiative, you can do whatever you want with these."

"I'll do that."

"Join the Avengers?"

"If Director Fury will let me."

"I'm sure he will, though I heard initiation is difficult."

"COULSON!" yelled Ward from the Bus, "THE BUS IS LEAVING!"

"We should go." said Coulson.

"Yeah. And once I get aboard the first thing I'll do is get to work designing a costume."

"Good luck, Jessica Drew."
