"I'm leaving you tonight, Tivan." I stated plainly, watching his expression change with the news.
"Excuse me?" Something like rage crossed his face and he was in front of me within moments.
"You don't love me, Tivan. You're in love with this collection. Ronan loves me. Ronan needs me. I want to be with him now." I snapped.
Tivan sighed. "No. We must talk about this."
"No, we must not."
"This is not over, Persephone. I love you." Tivan insisted.
"What are you talking about? It's been over for months." I stressed. "Ever since the day you-"
The Collector sighed deeply, grabbing my arm and turning me to face him. "Ronan the Accuser is a monster, Persephone. Please, see reason. He will do much worse than I could ever do to you."
"Ronan loves me. He loves me. And that is worth more to me than anything in your collection." I wrenched my hand out of his grasp.
"Persephone, please..." Tivan tried again, but I was already leaving the enormous museum.
"I'm going to pack my things. I love Ronan now, not you."
The excruciating sigh that gusted from his lungs nearly cleaved my heart in two. I still loved Tivan, but I had recently fallen for Ronan.
I planned to chart a space flight to board the Dark Aster. Hopefully Tivan would not find me there with Ronan. I knew how The Collector felt about losing his possessions.
