Disclaimer: I don't own Rave. Mashima-sensei does. Now let me rawr in peace. RAWR.
Now I don't really intend on doing this drabble, but something came up and I have to write it. Nyah. Btw, I have another story going on right now, but I only posted it in my LJ. It happens to be a Gale/Shuda fic, with a lot of crossdressing tagged along.
-- More than That. --
When they first met, Shuda was sure there's something in those eyes. He didn't know though, about that something being deeper than what meets the eye.
He found the boy sitting in front of a fountain in a rainy at Mildean. He was still a bounty hunter then, in search of the infamous Gale Glory. He didn't have enough money with him to get a room but he knew where to look. He was surprised though when all he ended up with was a boy with those empty eyes. It unnerved him, those eyes. They were so blank, his skin so cold and pale, as if like he's dead. In fact, that boy was the perfect epitome of death.
He tried talking to him, but nothing came out of the boy's lips. He would only stare at him then look away. But Shuda had a big heart. He felt pity for the boy, deciding he couldn't leave him to the mercy of the cold nature. And so, he brought the boy along with him.
Desperate for a warm room to rest the night, he traded one of his swords to a peddler and got a room for himself and the boy. He ignored the suspicious glances coming from the others and went to his room, the boy following him from behind.
It took him two good hours to finally get the boy talking, harsh whispers and murmurs counted. He realized though that nothing else but name and age was all he could get, so he called it a day. He left the bed for the boy and went to the couch and slept the night.
But by the time he woke up that morning, the boy was already gone. And strangely enough, he didn't bother. He already knew where the boy went off to.
That was the last time he saw that 15 year old boy, lost in the world with those cold violet eyes. The next time he saw him was 10 years later, the boy no longer present and instead, a cool and collected man stood there in front of him. They were introduced to each other, working that day on as colleagues. Indeed they work as partners and co-workers, but there was something else in the air between them.
Ever since that night, Shuda knows that somehow, the boy had wormed his way into his life, even with the absence of 10 years. And somehow, Sieg felt the same.
END.
