Summary: Peter is determined to be the one that finally kills Sylar, with a little help from Claude. A new hero arrives and it's someone Claude didn't expect to see
A/N: This story is set in Volume 3, two months after the events of Powerless. Reviews are always greatly received
Chapter 1- Reunions
---------------Peter Petrelli, Petrelli Mansion-------------------
Peter was sitting in his room, disbelieving as to what had happened to him over the last few months. First he thought he would never see his family again, not that he even knew who he was at that point, then he sees a new friend murdered, then finds his brother has cheated death for a second time, but hasn't survived this time. He blamed one person for all the ills that had happened in his life over the last two years, a person who was determined to destroy everything good in everyone's lives and needed to be stopped- Sylar. "I'm gonna be the one" Peter said quietly, but out loud " I'm gonna be the one that kills the bastard. It's my destiny"
"Ha Ha Ha, seems like some things really do never change, eh friend" came a voice from behind Peter. He knew the unmistakable, sarcastic voice straight away: "Nice to see you again, Claude" he says, turning round to face the invisible man. It had been nearly a year since the events of Kirby Plaza, when Nathan risked his life to save Peter, something neither Peter nor Claude had forgotten. "Look" Claude said "I was really sorry to hear about your brother, I know you two were close". Peter replied: "Thanks, now I'm gonna kill the bastard who's trying to destroy the world".
There then followed a classic Claude/Peter conversation:
Claude: I hope your not planning on going nuclear again, because that was a lot of hassle last time
Peter: don't worry, I don't think that's going to happen again
Claude: well that's a relief
Peter then phoned Mohinder, planning to ask him to get Molly to find Sylar. "Mohinder Suresh? It's Peter Petrelli" he said as Mohinder answered the phone
-----------Mohinder Suresh & Molly Walker, New York----------------
Mohinder replied: "Peter, what can I do for you?" Peter then explained that he needed Molly to try to find Sylar on the map for him. Mohinder agreed. He then asked her and she agreed. Thinking about him wasn't easy for her but she managed to track him down. Picking up the phone again Mohinder said: "Peter, Sylar is in Las Vegas" "Thanks, I'm on my way" Peter replied before hanging up
-------------Next day, Las Vegas------------------------------------
"Well here we are" said Claude as he and Peter arrived in Vegas. "Now all we have to do is find a brain-stealing serial killer". Peter replied: "You make it sound so easy" without even looking at Claude.
"Maybe I can help you" said a tall 18-year-old male standing behind them. Claude turned round and, looking at the man said: "Of all the people I could have seen here, you were the last one I expected to see". The man then replied: "You really think I'm not going to help out my own dad". Peter looked stunned. Claude then said to him: "Peter, I'd like you to meet my multi-abilitied son, Carl"
