Eye of the Storm
Gaara shouted, "I'll give Mother every drop of blood in your body!"
And Naruto knew he was about to die.
Subtly, something changed.
Then, Naruto was enveloped in a massive tornado, which dispelled Gaara's sand.
Naruto, still hidden within the tornado, moved towards his opponent in a blind fury.
Once Gaara joined him in the center of the storm, Naruto began to brutally slash away at him, the savage winds tearing apart any attempt the sand made to protect its master.
And when Gaara looked into the eyes of his assailant, they were different. The bright, sky blue was now as dark as an ocean storm. And within the iris appeared to be a hurricane.
Gaara realized, without hope, that he was caught in the eye of the storm.
He winced, waiting to end, but the killing blow never came.
The howling winds grew silent, before Gaara realized that he had been spared.
Looking around, he discovered that Naruto had left towards the Village, his tornado seeming to disappear.
Acting on instinct, Naruto had changed most of his tornado into a jet stream, allowing him to move much more quickly.
He didn't know what was happening to him, but he wasn't sure that he liked it.
So Naruto tried what he always did: when in doubt, find the old man.
Seeing a massive purple wall, Naruto headed to it, and upon realizing that the Hokage was trapped inside, he started attacking it with powerful blasts of wind.
After a moment, he began funneling demonic chakra—and eventually, he broke through.
Bu he was too late, and rage took him over. Naruto had lost his surrogate grandfather, and was lost to grief and madness.
Summoning again the tornado, he wanted only to hurt, to destroy, and to inflict his pain on anyone he could find.
This time, it began raining, and hailstones the size of tennis balls began falling as well.
But unlike before, he couldn't control his powers, and the very winds he commanded tore him apart.
Author's Note: without a doubt, I have nothing shorter or sadder than this. It's over, but one could do quite a bit with the aftermath... I don't really expect anybody to like this, but at least it's something, eh? Who knows, maybe if I knew what was bad about this story, I could maybe avoid it in the future......
