I don't own the X-Men.

Don't read this either – and that means you.

The Most Unconventional Couple

Jean opened her door to leave and stopped with it in mid swing. Wait… She thought. My hair

She grabbed a brush and began to stroke it through her hair. Just then she heard voices from in the hallway.

"That has got to be the most unconventional couple I have ever seen Storm." Xavier shook his head slightly. "I never would have thought…" He let the thought trail off.

"It was a surprise." Storm said with a smile in her voice. "But I think they're just adorable together."

Xavier chuckled. "Yes… I suppose they are quite… precious."

Storm and Xavier burst out laughing

Precious? Jean raised an eyebrow. Who could they…

And a small smile crossed her lips. Maybe I can find out on my own…

She slipped out of her room and back the way Xavier and Storm had come. In the common room she could see Alex – Scott's little brother – talking with Jubilee.

Hmmm… Jean watched them. They were talking about video games. They don't seem very 'couply' She decided and wandered on down the hallway just a bit.

Kitty and Rogue sat laughing in front of the television. Kitty reached over and bumped Rogues hand affectionately and offered her some pretzels from on the table. Rogue smiled and accepted.

Nnnnnnnoooooooooooo…. Jean thought slowly before raising her eyebrows and adding a great big question mark to the end of the idea.

Could it be? She watched them for a moment longer. They do room together.

At just that moment Rahne and Bobby dashed by laughing with each other.

Jean raised an eyebrow. Couple? She wondered and followed slowly down the hall.

But Rahne and Bobby stopped short in front of the large bay windows of the front room. They stood transfixed by what they saw.

Jean could feel the jolt of their emotions and she quickened her pace. Nervously Bobby and Rahne looked between Jean and the window, and then…

They both took off out of sight.

Jean shook her head. What could possibly…

But all her thoughts stopped when she did – in front of the window. No… She thought. But there was no denying it.

Scott and Beast stood on the lawn wrapped in each other's arms. Scott was speaking. "Don't worry. I'll tell Jean about us tonight."

And beast smiled before drawing Scott in to a long, slow, deep kiss…

The End
