A/N: An "Under Siege" ficlet. Enjoy!

"What's the plan, Kens?" Nell asked.

Kensi began to strip off her vest, placing it on her desk. The plan? The plan was to get everyone the hell out of danger. To get Deeks home and tell him freaking yes, she would marry him, and then run away to some desert island somewhere because they were not doing this jail thing again.

But that wasn't as much of a plan as it was a desperate pipe dream, so Kensi took a breath and thought for a moment. "We have to move fast. If Sabatino's really behind this he's had a long time to work out his plan. Callen, Sam, and Deeks are sitting ducks. And after what happened to Granger…" she looked at both of them grimly, her heart heavy with the thought of their fearless leader bleeding out on a jailhouse floor. "Eric, you're on Overwatch. Nell, you're going to get to Callen."

"Lawyer?" Nell asked.

"It's our best option. You think you can sell it?" Kensi searched her friend's face. They didn't have a lot of time and Nell would have to fly solo on this one.

"Please." Nell rolled her eyes as she pulled off her own vest. "With this face? I'll have him out of there in no time. The emergency backstops for it should already be in place. Are you going for Deeks?"

"Whiting is going to let me in there if it takes all day," Kensi told her.

"Who's going to get Sam out?" Eric asked as Nell stepped behind a privacy screen to change.

"Sam's a big boy, Eric. He can take care of himself," Nell replied. "Hand me that jacket?"

He reached for the blazer and put it in her waiting hand.

"We'll get to Callen and Deeks and then we'll figure out what to do about Sam." Kensi dumped two new earwigs out of a box, handing one to Nell as she reappeared, now dressed in a suit and heels. "As soon as you get out come straight back here. Don't talk to anyone you don't have to. Don't stop. Not for anything."

Nell nodded in understanding. They were all that was left of the team. There was no one else to come riding in and save the day if they failed.

"Kens, how are you going to get the earwig to Deeks?" Eric asked. "They won't allow any physical contact in the jail."

It was a thought that had been tumbling about in Kensi's mind since she'd decided on this course of action. She wouldn't be able to just hand it to him. Whiting would be watching her every move like a hawk. A hawk with beady, evil little eyes. God, she hated that woman.

"If you can get him into an interrogation room you could slip it to him under the table," Nell suggested. "It would give you a little cover at least."

Kensi shook her head. "He'll be in a cell. Whiting will want me as far away from him as possible."

Every idea seemed less viable than the last. They would be so exposed, standing there on either side of the bars. What she needed was a way to pass the earwig that Whiting wouldn't even think of questioning; something so obvious that even an experienced detective would overlook it.

"Oh my god." She shook her head, feeling laughter bubble up inside her for the first time in days. It was a crazy idea. But one she thought Deeks would definitely approve of and Whiting would never suspect. Quick, and clean, and definitely creative.

"Kensi?" Eric asked. "Did you think of something?"

She smiled at them, her eyes full of mischief, mind already imagining the look on Deeks' face when he realized what was happening. "Let's just say, I don't think it's going to be a problem after all."
