Continuing with "The Series of FY Poems Sharing Titles With Songs Sung By Jean Valjean" sequence, we now have Bring Him Home. Heck, I've got a pattern going here! 'Who Am I', 'What Have I Done', and now 'Bring Him Home'. However, 'tis rather shorter than the other poems in this sequence...
Bring Him Home
[In Kuto, looking out of a window towards Konan, Suboshi thinks of his brother]
Bring him home
Seiryuu, you must be up in this heaven
Somewhere
If you can hear me
Please
Bring him home to me
He's the only person I'll ever have
And I need him
To be with me
So can you grant me
This one thing:
My brother
Please, please
Bring him home
Bring him home to me
[In Konan, looking out of a window towards Kuto, Amiboshi thinks of Tamahome, the person who can make the girl he loves happy]
Bring him home
Seiryuu, you must hear my prayer
For the sake of love
And all things touched by it
Please
Bring him home
He's the only person who can make her
Truly happy
She needs him
To stand by her
As he loves her
And she loves him
Please
Bring him home
Bring him home to her
[Suboshi concentrates all of his life force into the twins' soul link]
Koutoku…
My brother…
My other half
We used to be always together
And now he must always leave
But once this is thru
We can be one spirit again
So please
BRING
HIM
HOME
Home to me…
[Amiboshi feels Suboshi's sadness and longs to be with him again]
Shunkaku
He needs me
I need him
We once said we would be one
One person
We need to be together for that
I want to be one person again
I want to be whole
BRING
ME
HOME
Home for him…
[Both twins think of each other, the two halves a soul, the twin pinpricks of light that make one star, the identical countenances that hide their sorrow in being apart]
Bring him home
(Bring me home)
Seiryuu above, hear my prayer
(Hear my desperate request)
If only one thing is ever granted
(One thing for me)
Please, let me see the mirror
(That mirrors me)
Let me have my brother back
(Let me return to him)
Bring him home
(Please bring me home)
Let the two beats unite
(Into a single heart)
Let us be together again
(And not be parted again)
Across seas
(And mountains)
And forests
(And valleys)
Rivers
(Plains)
Let him hear me across everything
(And overcoming everything)
Let him return
(Let me return)
Bring him home
(Bring me home)
Let me hear his flute
(I'll play for him once more)
Let me hear his voice
(He won't be alone during shadows)
If only one wish
(All we'll ever have)
Let it be this
(Each other)
Overcoming storms
(And worlds)
Time
(And stars)
Bring…
(Please, bring…)
Him…
(Me…)
Home…
(Home…)
[The twins leave the windows they had sat at]
[Suboshi walks slowly and sadly to his room, but still prays that Seiryuu might hear his only request, the only thing he's ever asked for]
[Amiboshi turns to overhear the guards discussing Tamahome's return, realizing with a burst of joy and then horror, as he learns the celestial warrior has come back, but to kill the girl he once loved]
Owari
Little author's note here: Both of the twins' introductionary poem sections were exactly fifteen lines and 58 words, and in the second part, they were both 12 lines…just thought I'd mention....
