Lingering Memories

Once upon a forgotten time,

When the bells of peace still chimed,

In Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,

There were four friends, who were destined to be,

Four boys by fate were brought together,

Each entirely different from the other,

One a pureblood, by conviction, playing the game,

Another a pureblood though only in name,

One was a human beast shunned by all,

And finally, a boy who would bring their downfall,

All were friends, the best of their time,

A bond they would soon form, partners in crime,

The four Marauders, they called themselves,

Tricksters playing pranks right off the shelves,

'I solemnly swear I'm up to no good',

With that they're off to lighten the mood,

Slimy Slytherines you'd better watch out,

For the Marauders are out and running about,

But those times are past, those days are gone,

The first one turned traitor betraying his own,

On the dawn of a new age, another lay dead,

By the hand of a friend he was betrayed,

Just last year, fresh still is the memory,

Of the other that fell in a shroud of mystery,

One there was left, but not as he was,

A mere shadow after all his loss,

Now in this time a new story arises,

And so ends the tale of the four legendary Marauders.
