A/N: Well, Naruto is a normally bright, annoying person. I know, Naruto isn't a 'she', but this song just sparks me as a Naruto song. Well, anyways, this is Sasuke's thinking about Naruto, to Bill Withers' Ain't no Sunshine. Please review and tell me how I did!

Today was a very gloomy day. Listening to the silence wasn't helping very much. Even the times he heard small chats between Sakura and Kakashi didn't soothe him. Something was missing, and Sasuke knew exactly what it was. It was definitely affecting all of them.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.
It's not warm when she's away.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long anytime she goes away.
His footsteps were heavier than usual, as though the footsteps might drown out everything else. But they didn't. Sasuke was unerved. He had a bad feeling. Why, of all days, did Naruto not come to the meeting place? Their team was to leave on a mission, and the four decided they would meet at the Konoha gates. And they all came -
Except Naruto.
Wonder this time where she's gone,
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away.
None of them even recieved word that Naruto wouldn't be coming. The day before the boy was wearing a grin of all grins, the excitement and joy obvious on his features. This mission was going to be a blast, he had told them. Feeling frustrated, Sasuke called him an idiot. And there in is when the fighting started, and both boys stalked off in a rage.
Was Sasuke supposed to regret that? He pondered, as a small drizzle floated down to earth, on the way to Naruto's home.
And I know, I know, I know, I know.
He near bumped into Sakura when she stopped ubruptly. He was about to question her, when he noticed the problem.
The door to Naruto's small apartment was broken down, the faint smell of blood and ramen coating the delicate air.
Hey, I ought to leave the young thing alone,
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone,
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, only darkness everyday.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone,
And this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away.
A wave of panic hit Sasuke like a freight train. He could do nothing but stand there a few moments in the sprinkling rain, then followed his two teammates in.
Anytime she goes away.
Along with being very messy, the small area was a wreck. Burned scrolls, ramen cups smashed, the ramen box was overturned, uncooked ramen spilling out of broken packaging. There was a fresh cup of just-made ramen on the small table, and blood smeared along the floor, walls, bed, and chair.
Anytime she goes away.
Sasuke glanced to his partners. Kakashi was examining evidence, his one visible eye slightly wide with confusion. Sakura was teary eyed, tip-toeing her way over the destruction, calling for the boy softly. Sasuke also went to looking, when he found something peculiar.
Anytime she goes away.
Naruto's nightcap was nailed to the wall next to the long window above Naruto's bed. He pulled the hat off, examining it closely. Yellow hairs were on the inside, and a bit of blood with it.
Anytime she goes away.
A/N: Well, how was that? I like it, personally. I like leaving things hanging. Please review! Reviews are cherished!
