Alaina's P.O.V.
Chapter One: I Love Him
My name is Alaina. I live with my best friend, with permission from my father. My best friend's name is Jon. He's barely eighteen and I'm seventeen. He's a senior in high school and I'm a junior. Jon has his own place, btw.
I do a lot with the web. My screen name is Laney'sLies3. Yeah, btw, my dad is Marshall Mathers. Eminem. Slim Shady. Yeah. Whatev, right? He's not my biological dad, of course. He's my biological mother's sister's ex husband. So… He's my uncle. But he really is my dad. He's done more for me than my biological dad ever has.
But, anyway, back to my "tragic" love life. That's what my sisters, Hailie and Whitney call it, anyway. I'm rolling my eyes.
Jon has a girlfriend. Her name is Natalie Something-Or-Other. I'm the one who loves him, though. I know he's slept with her. He's slept with a lot of people. Secretly, I'm jealous that I'm not one of them.
Aww, shit. Dad just walked in. I'll place dialogue below.
"Laney? What the fuck you doin'?"
I smile innocently, "Nothin', dad. What are you doin' at Jon's?"
Dad grins, "Here to see if Natalie's here."
I roll my eyes and groan, "Dad. You're mid-thirties. She's nineteen."
He laughs, "Nothin' wrong with that. You can look, Laney. But don't do any bangin'."
I groan at his crude language, "Nat's not here, dad."
He turns and leaves. I go to my room to think… I don't want to, but I think about that… Natalie cheating on Jon with my father. I mean, I thought she was, but I didn't want to believe it… How can I tell Jon…? I couldn't… I wouldn't… Would I…? Could I really do that to him…? Break his heart in the hopes of getting laid and him realizing that I was the one…? Fuck this. I can't do this. I get on my phone and realize I have an IM. I'll post the convo here.
SexiMan says: Laina?
Laney'sLies says: Yeah? Jon, you ok?
SexiMan says: I think Natalie's cheating on me… I saw a text on her phone from some guy whose screen name is "RealDeal". It was talking about 'was he the 1 she gave head to 1st?'
Laney'sLies says: Don't worry about it. I'm sure it's fine. Y don't u talk to her bout it?
SexiMan says: Ok. I'll try. Ttyl.
