Introductory: It's Just Like Magic

"Mum?" the young girl called to her mother,
"In the lounge dear" called back a beautiful voice,
"Mum, look what I can do!" Lily Evans showed her mother what I had been delighting over for the last half hour.

She took the pinwheel she was holding and held it up high so that her mother could see it. She concentrated with all her might until she could feel it working, slowly the pinwheel started turning. She made it go faster and slower. She smiled wide and laughed until she saw her mother's face,
"Mother? What's the matter?" Lily's mother stood up and went over to the windows in the lounge, all of which were shut as it was a dreary October's day.

"Lily, what was that?" Mrs Evans asked her youngest daughter
"I'm not sure, I sort of just concentrate really hard on making the wheel turn, and it does! It's just like magic!"
"Lily, you musn't talk like that, whatever it is you are doing I want you to stop right now and you musn't ever do it again" the mother said in fearful tone

All sorts of things were going through Mrs. Evans' head, perhaps her youngest, already a very imaginative child needed to see a doctor. She immediately cast that thought aside and blamed the wind. Although she knew it was impossible, she needed an explanation for something so bizarre.

Lily walked into the hallway and towards the stairs with the still revolving pinwheel at her side, she was startled when she peered through her hallway window and noticed a sallow-faced looking boy wearing an odd smock like shirt with a very oversized coat over top hiding in the bushes looking into the house. She couldn't understand who would go out dressed in such little clothing but as she made to walk over to the window the boy hastily realised he had been spotted and scampered away.

Very confused Lily ran up to her room and plonked onto her bed she was delighted that she had a skill but knew nobody would have a solution as to what is was she could do, but it didn't matter because Lily already knew what it was,

"It's just like magic" she whispered to the turning pinwheel.
