Till Death do us Part

Hermione was at Draco's mansion, snuggled in his arms. They'd been there for hours watching horror movies and eating popcorn. The real horror was Lucius. Today was the day they were going to tell him about them. Hermione knew it was the best thing to do. If lucius couldn't handle it, there was always spells and disguises to continue their lives without his disturbance. Draco was sleeping peacefully. There was a knock on the door. Draco woke up startled and got up to answer it. He gave Hermione an apologetic look and opened the door. There stood Lucius Malfoy in his black suit. He had a scowl on his face and he entered the house. Hermione stood up.

It was just like the day they fell in love. It was when they were seventeen and were captured by Voldemort's followers. Draco didn't want anyone to die so he pretended it wasn't Hermione, Ron and Harry that were kneeling in pain at his feet. Draco and Hermione looked into each others eyes and instantly felt something. She knew from then on, her life was going to be different and she was going to take that risk.

"Who's this Draco?" Lucuis pointed.

"This is... my fiance, Hermione Granger." Draco said in a scared voice.

"G-Granger?" Lucius spluttered.

"Yes, that's the one." Draco nodded solemnly.

"How did this happen?" Lucius asked through gritted teeth.

"We have a lot in common and... Hermione makes me feel better." Draco smiled towards his love.

"Draco. Your mother and I have arranged a marriage with Pansy Parkinson." Lucius raised his voice. He was about to crack. A mud-blood for goodness sake!

"I won't marry anyone. I'm in love with Hermione. I don't care what you think." Draco stiffened his upper lip.

"Draco, don't make me do something you'd regret." Lucius growled.

"No father! I'm sick of doing as I'm told! It's Hermione who has helped me through this and I'm glad Potter has defeated The Dark Lord. My life was nothing then, just doing orders. Now I have a chance at love and I'm choosing to do that with Hermione whether you like it or not." Draco ordered.

"It seems you do not understand..." Lucius smirked as he drew out his wand.

"Father... No!" Draco yelled.

"It's the only way!" Lucius bellowed.

"I love her!" Draco protested and pulled out his own wand.

"That mud-blood is worthless. You can marry any pure blood you want." Lucius argued.

"I only want Hermione." Draco said coldly.

"Then you've given me no choice." Lucius smiled and pointed his wand at Hermione. She panicked and pulled out her wand and pointed it at Lucius.

They stared for a few moments and then Lucius motioned for her to get ready.

"Avada Kedavra!" Hermione and lucius yelled at the same time.

Their spells hit each other which lit up the whole room in green.

Their spells rebounded and both fighters were knocked to the floor.

"Hermione!" Draco screamed and ran by her side.

Draco's father was dead on the floor and Hermione was bleeding but alive.

"Hermione, what happened?" Draco asked in hysterics.

"I don't know." Hermione said in a shaky voice.

"Father is dead. I saw you get hit." Draco said with tears in his eyes.

"Draco.. there's something I have to tell you...." Hermione said crying into his chest.

"Please, anything." Draco gasped and pulled her into his grasp.

"I'm pregnant." Hermione sobbed.

And then it hit him.

That's why she didn't die.

That's why Hermione's belly was bleeding.

His child,

his unborn child....

was dead....
