"Idiot!" I screamed at Takishima, my sole rival.
"Miss Number Two!" He called back with grin on his face.
"Just you wait! I'll defeat you, definitely!" I said.
"Let's see you try, my darling Number Two!" he said.
Darling..? I thought. What the heck? He's mocking me!
"Grrr… TA-KI-SHI-MA!" I uttered each syllable with contempt, "I WILL defeat you! I'll make you bow down to me and acknowledge that I am better than you!"
I walked away, my face red, but not because of anger.
"I love you too!" he answered back, "I really do," he said softer.
Looking back, I don't think I heard 'I really do' and thought he was being sarcastic, probably really was, but now I know that he spoke the truth.
He always teases me and sometimes we clash but…
