As you stare up into the lights you think it's strange how events came to be like this. One moment things seem to be going well, and the next everything's gone out of your control. How did this happen? A bank robbery.
The thing is that you were feeling so much better after that evangelist talked to you. Like you'd been given new direction in life, which was quite exhilarating when you consider how directionless your life had been in the past. It's nice to finally have some sense of direction in life.
It all happened so fast, the two men bursting into the bank demanding that everyone freeze. It figures that you'd be in the bank on the day it got robbed, but when you turned around as the robbers shouted you notice someone you cared for was standing in the line. Akane.
You saw it, she tensed as she prepared to attack the two men. No! Don't be stupid! Akane!!
As you watch the two men whip their guns at her and you find yourself in motion as they fire. Time has slowed down to a mere crawl. I'm too late, you think, I've failed, forgive me Akane.
That's when you found yourself on the ground, warm red liquid seeping all around. You think you can make out police sirens in the distance but it doesn't matter to you right now. Akane…
That's when you feel hot tears strike your cold clammy skin. You wonder briefly when all the heat left your body. Don't cry, p-please don't cry. I-I can't stand it!
You pull off your bandana with some difficulty, it takes nearly all your strength to make your fingers do what you want, you can't seem to keep your hands from shaking as you wipe the tears from her face and try to comfort her. It's ok Akane, everything will be fine. You're unsure wether you spoke those words or just thought them.
You want to tell her what you've always wanted to, you need to, before it's too late, but your throat clenches around the words not allowing you to speak. Damn, not now!
Summoning all your strength and courage you manage to tell her that you love her. You listen almost dispassionately as she sobs your name over and over growing more silent and more distant as the moments tick by. I'm sorry Akane, so sorry.
It is now that the pain catches up to you. The two agonizing bullet holes driving all awareness of the outer world away from your mind. I go to rest in the arms of The Lord.
Authors Notes: I hope you like it, this is the only part of the story that will be written in second person, the rest will be first person from different characters points of view. Please review!
