Chapter I
Champion Rising
A rather tall young man that looked to be in his early twenties and stood around 6'2" walked silently down the dark hallway, his knee length coat billowing behind him as his rust colored hair cascaded down to his shoulders. He adjusted his studious looking glasses nervously as a light grew brighter at the end of the hallway. His heart thundered in his chest with each step closer to the light before he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, a smirk forming on his lips as the thunderous sound of applause filled his ears, his footsteps slowing as he looked across the stadium floor to his opponent.
His opponent was a rather tall woman with waist length blond hair that cascaded down her back. Her clothing consisted of a shin length, fur-trimmed black trench coat with a raindrop shaped clasp over a casual black blouse and slacks. The woman smiled slightly as the crowd grew silent before she smiled and spoke.
"So, you're the trainer I've been hearing so much about. Seems you've been busy going through and beating all of the other leagues. Trying to be another Red I assume?" She laughed slightly at the younger trainer before she continued. "May I ask the name of my opponent?"
The male chuckled slightly at her remark before he pulled his hair back into a loose ponytail to keep it out of the way as he replied. "My name is Trieze Krushinada. As for my reasons for beating all the leagues? Twas but a test to ensure I was capable of inheriting my families company when my mother steps down." He gave the crowd another smirk before he reached down and pulled a pokeball from his belt. "Shall we get started then Miss Champion?"
The woman chuckled slightly at his challenge before she retrieved a pokeball and replied. "Yes, we shall, but first. Memorize my name, I am Cynthia, The champion of Sinnoh!"
[Cue music: Champion Cynthia Black/White remix]
The battle began as with a flash, two beings were released. The being that stood in front of Trieze was slightly over five feet tall and held an air of serenity about it. It had a distinctly womanly shape, with an hourglass figure and delicate features. Its violet eyes peered from under slightly longer than normal, forest green hair. The being smiled slightly before curtsying slightly, it's long, sectioned white dress flaring out as it took to the sky silently, It's eyes glowing with psychic power as its dainty green hands where enveloped in a crackling violet aura.
The being that appeared in front of Cynthia was, at first glance, a simple rock with a peculiar face like design etched into it. It quickly became apparent that is was no mere stone when the etchings began to glow with a dark and mischievous aura before a hissing cackle was heard as a galaxy shaped creature of violet energy erupted from the etchings, a playful smile present on its jagged fanged mouth as it focused its constantly swirling gaze on its opponent.
"Of all the things I would have expected...A Gardevoir was not one of them." Cynthia murmured with a slight hint of respect before she smiled and spoke up. "To bad your Gardevoir is doomed to fall to my Spiritomb."
"We shall see." was all that Trieze said before with a smirk he roared. "SHOW THIS CHAMPION YOUR STRNGTH VERALETTE!"
His Gardevoir cried out in reply before she glared and began to form a two, crackling orbs of energy, one made of shimmering pink and white light, the other made of swirling black shadows. The orbs began to multiply quickly, orbiting her body as sizzling green orbs began to appear as well. The Gardevoir cried out once more before rocketing forward at the Spiritomb, bombarding it with the multicolored energies as she went.
While the Gardevoir was preparing, the Spiritomb had been watching silently before it cackled darkly and began forming multiple orbs of shadow as well that were joined by sizzling lines of pure darkness before it began firing its own attacks as a counter, the resulting series of explosions filling the area with smoke before the Spiritomb cackled again and disappeared in a wave of purple mist that slowly began creeping towards the Gardevoir, enveloping her in a purple haze as small green pinpricks of light began to dot the area behind her before the swirling form of Spiritomb face formed out of the mist, a precharged shadow ball hovering in its mouth before it blinked in confusion at the sudden appearance of multiple moonblasts around it. The Gardevoir snapped its fingers with an ominous finality before the moonblasts detonated throwing the now knocked out Spiritomb clear of the smoke before it was returned to its pokeball by Cynthia.
"You're good." Cynthia complemented as she readied another pokeball while Trieze merely smirked and called back his Gardevoir before selecting a new pokemon as well.
Champions Stadium: VIP booth
A woman who looked to be in her early forties was seated in an ornate chair, Her long, rust colored hair much like the young trainer bellow's. She was clad in a deep, burgundy colored business suit that complemented her ample bust and hips and hugged her hourglass figure. She emitted an aura of unnatural power and confidence as her pale red lips twisted into a small smile of pride as she watched over her son's progress as his Feraligatr battled with Cynthia's Lucario. To either side of her stood a large and ominous figure.
To her left stood the figure of a very tall and large man, his immaculately cared for emerald hued tuxedo shimmering slightly in the lighting of the room, his dark, wine colored eyes hidden behind a pair of large, reflective shades. To her right stood the figure of a larger than normal and heavily scared Dragonite, Its battle hardened senses on high alert as it's eagle-like eyes constantly scanned the crowds, it's thick tail waving lazily behind it as it purred contently as the woman scratched it's chin for a moment.
The woman's attention was diverted as the Feraligatr won the round by a knock on the door to her booth, her hazel colored eyes snapping to the door before she spoke, her voice carrying a hint of annoyance. "Yes? Who is it?"
"Just an old friend with a business proposition." A lilting baritone voice sounded from the other side of the door before the mystery man chuckled. "Come on now, would you really leave me high and dry Lux?"
The woman sighed before she spun the ornate chair to face the door, the window behind her showing a battle between a large orange, flaming dragon and a smaller green, draconic reptile with bladed forearms facing off against a large white bird and a mid-height plant like being with large flowers for hands. She signaled for the man that now stood to her right to open the door, revealing a tall, lavishly clothed man with startlingly green eyes and shock white hair with an arrogant smirk gracing his thin lips.
"What the hell do you want this time Destro?" She snapped impatiently, the battle raging in the stadium growing more and more intense.
The man clutched at his heart in feigned hurt before he spoke. "Oh dear Lux, how you do me wrong when I simple want to offer a friend a way to propel our businesses forward." Destro chuckled darkly before he took a seat in the other chair in the booth. "What if I told you that there was a way to put our two companies at the top of the genetics research field?"
Lux leaned back slightly, closing her eyes for a moment before she spoke, her voice carrying the finality of death. "If this is about the shadow program you brought up last time you can go ahead and leave. Now."
Destro sighed slightly before the humor left his voice and the room seemed to grow colder. "If that's how it's going to be Lux, don't expect any mercy down the road. I will go forward with the program, and I will gain the catalyst, with or without you." He stood quickly before curtly turning and walking back out of the room.
Lux sighed slightly before turning back to the battle in tile to catch her son's Garchomp delivering the final blow to Cynthia's Milotic. It was down to the final round, and the advent of Cynthia's strongest pokemon said to rival even legendaries, her undefeated Garchomp. Lux's smile widened slightly when she saw the pokeball her son had chosen, deep blood red with a blue flame design etched into the shell.
Champions Stadium: Battlegrounds
The crowd had grown silent as the two trainers had gotten to their last pokemon, the tension in the air almost tangible as Cynthia released her final pokemon. The light faded to reveal the large, battle scared form of her larger than normal Garchomp, its height almost two feet more than average. It shook its great head before it let off a deafening roar, the stadium floor around it cracking and buckling upwards from the sheer power it radiated. It growled menacingly, its tail trashing in agitation and excitement as its pupils narrowed in anticipation of its coming fight.
Trieze smirked slightly before he threw the blood red ball, the normal release mechanism replace with a flash of blue fire as his tall and lithe Blaziken stood at attention, his blood red and snow white feathers contrasting nicely as he focused his on the large dragon in front of him. He rose to his full seven foot height before he cried out, his hands and feet becoming enveloped in searing blue flames as the stadium became a sea of fire, the sheer force of the heat overwhelming as the Blaziken slowly sank into the martial arts stance he had learned from his trainer, his movements like a slow dance.
"Your Blaziken is impressive...You might actually beat the undefeated." Cynthia spoke softly as she locked gazes with Trieze.
"Only time will tell." was Trieze's reply as he matched her gaze's intensity before he spoke with the authority of god. "Renje, My most powerful friend, let us show them the depth of your unwavering strength."
[Cue music: Merciless King by Go Shiina))
With a roar, the Garchomp flew forward, its massive clawed feet carving chunks out of the stadium floor before the blade like fin on its arm began glowing with a white light before it brought it crashing down at the Blaziken. The Blaziken growled slightly before springing backward into a handstand, the ground where it had been exploding from the impact before it began to spin, his legs extending outwards as they were engulfed in flame, connecting with the Garchomp jaw and making it stagger backwards. The Blaziken sprang back onto his feet quickly before launching into a series of sweeping kicks and lightning quick punches, his feet leaving burning blue trails as his fists glowed with a malicious blue and purple aura, his movements more akin to dancing rather than fighting, as he quickly whittled away at his opponents strength. The Garchomp simply swayed and moved with the blows, attempting to minimize the damage as it countered with lightning quick jabs and tail swipes along with passing snaps of shadow coated fangs. They broke apart and leapt to opposite sides of the field their shoulders heaving from exertion, before the Blaziken became cloaked in a bright blue aura while the Garchomp became cloaked in a deep purple aura and they charged towards each other, the impact creating a dome of light to engulf them before the explosion rocked the entire stadium before the two pokemon leapt from the spoke to stand in front of their respective trainer.
"You're good kid," Cynthia said with a slight smile as she slowly placed a ring with a bright green stone with a DNA strand design on her finger. "But don't think we're done just yet! Garchomp, Mega-Evolution!"
The Garchomp roared as it was engulfed in a bright purple orb of energy before it faded and the stadium floor shattered and began to float in the air from the sheer power pouring from the pokemon revealed. It chest and head had become more angular and muscular, with outward pointing spikes running down its ribcage. Its legs had grown more muscular and now sported a series of white spikes running down its thighs before ending in a long, red spike at the knee. Its tail had grown longer and thinner and laced with supple corded muscles while its claw and fins had fused into a large, red edged blade. Steam hissed from its mouth as it tilted its head and roared as energy shielding rose in place in front of the stands and over the two trainers.
As this happened, Trieze had begun to laugh, his baritone voice ringing through the air as his voice took on an exhilarated edge. "You! You are the first person since Red to ever use Mega-Evolution against me. Now, Like that time on Mount Silver, Me and Renje can finally let loose. " He smirked slightly as he pulled his sleeve down to reveal a bracelet set with the same stone as Cynthia's ring. "Mega-Evolution!"
The Blaziken roared as an orb of blue fire engulfed it before exploding outwards, the stadium floor erupting into flame as the floor buckled from the power released by the new being. His wing like appendages had grown more angular and now set along the side of his head while his v-shaped crest had fused into a single, bladed like crest set on his forehead. His feathers had taken on a darker red hue with flame shaped patches of black on his thighs, shoulders, and chest. A pair of long ribbon like flames trailed from either wrist as he moved his body slowly and steadily, his muscles rippling as he began his dance like style again.
The air was filled with excitement as the two squared off, their power causing the air to ripple and distort before the calm was shattered as the Garchomp roared and began slicing the air wildly, blades of wind flying from its scythe like blades as it charged towards the Blaziken who countered with a barrage of rippling air pulses it threw from its fists before it leaned forward and shot towards the Garchomp. The two pokemon disappeared, their afterimages all that was visible as the two pokemon clashed over and over in the sky, ground, and even on the ceiling as they traded blow after blow. The Blaziken leapt back for a moment his limbs becoming cloaked in frigid air as it absorbed all of the heat from the area before it lashed out, ice coating the Garchomps chest as he began to throw punishing and endless combos that slowly grew faster and faster until the air began to crack and ripple with each and every attack. The Garchomp growled as its body began to radiate an overwhelming menace as its claws became bathed in a black, shadow laden aura before it began to counter, the ringing of blow meeting blow filling the stadium before the air around the two began to glow with the heat, and friction of their passage. Their exchange lasted but a moment before they each landed a hit that threw them across the field from each other. The two pokemon laboriously pulled themselves back to their feet before they glared at each other, exhaustion evident in their movements. With a final roar the two rushed forward, The Blaziken cloaked in burning blue flames, while the Garchomp was cloaked in a wild purple aura. As the two met, their auras swelled and fought against each other in a rising dome of energy before the clash detonated, rocking the entire stadium. The crowd waited with bated breath as the smoke slowly cleared to show a now normal Blaziken supporting the defeated Garchomp, the crowd going wild as the announcer declared Trieze's victory.
Three Months later
Versailles Island, Unova
The sun lit the world brilliantly, the light reflecting off of the ocean the surrounded the large island hat sat outside of Undella bay. The island itself was covered in multiple varied climates, a tropical forest in the south, a pine forest in the north, a desert in the east, and mountains in the west, while a small, open plain dominated the center of the island. The four sections of the island were unremarkable for the most part until one looked close enough to see the faint shimmer in the air that showed the faint force fields of the environmental control systems that maintained each environment, the small, star shaped Machines that released the necessary amounts of water and such through the environments.
In the center of the plain, concealed within the hills was a towering mansion, its uppermost towers reaching almost a hundred feet in the air, while the main building covered an area of almost a half a mile. Its main building was made of dark, obsidian colored bricks for the most part, with areas of grey and white lining the windows and doors. The huge, charcoal colored main doors towered for at least twenty feet above the ground to accommodate the larger pokemon that would pass through the halls. The interior of the mansion was geared more towards practicality, with bare red colored walls and heavy, wooden furniture. Past the sparse entrance hall and upper floors that were filled with bedroom and barracks, the bottom floors were where the life of the building lay. The basement was abuzz with life as trainers ran to and fro between computer monitors and detection and listening gear, a large holographic view of the world shining in the middle of the command center for that is what is was. Lux Krushinada stood at the head of the center, a large monitor in front of her as she and a choice few other admins directed the movements of their many field agents.
Lux sighed slightly and stepped away from the monitor for the moment before she turned to one of the admins beside her, his uniform perfectly groomed, before she spoke. "Has my son come in yet? I need him, Roma, and Akihiro here as-", She was cut off as the building suddenly rumbled from an impact of epic proportions causing a sigh to escape her lips. "God dammit…."
Fifteen minutes earlier
Versailes island docks
Trieze took his first step onto the shores of his home for the first time in almost ten years, a smile crossing his lips as he took a deep breath and sighed. "Ah...It's been awhile eh, Renje?" Trieze asked as he looked over his shoulder at the pokemon behind him.
'It would have been quicker if we hadn't stayed to do the battle frontier in Sinnoh...Twas an utter waste of time and effort. Those trainers had naught on us' the large bird grumbled, the translator in Trieze's ear allowing him to understand.
"Well they advertised it so well that I honestly thought it would be better. Hell at least the Brains were somewhat of a good challenge." Trieze sighed.
A low, sultry feminine voice chimed in from behind the Blaziken as a pair of slender, green arms wrapped around the large birds arm. 'It also doesn't help that you went and pissed Heatran off and almost killed us all when it tried to eat us...' His Gardevoir purred from beside Renje, her body more feminine than normal while her hair drifted down her back in messy waves.
"You're not helping Veralette..." Trieze sighed slightly a bead of sweat running down his neck before he paused and stood up, his eyes focused on the man in front of him.
The man in front of Trieze was around 5'8" in height and was rather well built, with wide shoulders and a heavyset body. He was dressed in a charcoal grey vest with swirling designs over a loose, black button up shirt and a pair of immaculate black slacks. A rather old looking fedora graced the strangers head as he tilted his rather pale face up to meet Trieze's, a goatee and mustache framing his lips before he spoke. "You took your sweet ass time getting back jackass." The smaller male said in a rather lively voice. "Did you get lost in Sinnoh, man?"
Trieze smiled slightly before walking forward to embrace the smaller man. "Dammit Roma, I get lost once and you've yet to let me live it down. That was seven damn years ago jackass." Trieze laughed slightly before he looked over Romas shoulder to see his other good friend.
Another male that stood around 6'1" was walking along the path towards the two friends. He wore a long sleeved shirt under a short sleeved jacket, the collar flat against his neck and a pair of striped biker's pants, as his black hair swayed in the wind, his voice ringing out. "Damn, where the hell have you been Trieze? Did you get thrown in jail for blowing shit up...Again?"
Trieze face-planted hard before he growled and looked up at the other male. "Fuck you too, Akihiro. You know we swore never to speak of that incident again..."
There was a short silence as the three stood and appraised each other before a matching grin graced each man's lips.
"You know... It's been a while since we've had a good spar... Wouldn't you agree?" Trieze smirked slightly as he spoke, Renje straightening slightly behind him as his feathers rose in preparation.
"Yeah... I'd say it has been." Roma replied before a blue and black blur shot in front of him.
The blur resolved itself into a tall and lithe blue, jackal like creature known as Lucario. It was around 4'11", rather tall for its species. It had predominantly blue fur that covered its face, waist, arms, and tail, while its chest was a dark cream color. It had black fur that formed a mask like effect on its face and a glove like effect on its hands while forming a sock like effect on its legs up to its knees. It had a set of four oblong objects that set on the back of its skull almost like a set of dreadlocks that it used to detect the aura of those around it. It sighed and slowly sank into a rather relaxed stance, the palms of its paws held loosely, allowing the sunlight to glint off of the steel horns on the back of each wrist, it legs forming an almost forty-five degree angles as its hands took on a faint blue sheen.
Yeah...It's been a while since we could really cut loose." Akihiro smiled as a black shape came into being next to him in a shimmer of water.
The shimmer faded to reveal the 5'9" form of a Greninja. It was rather lithe and with a thin and angular body and head and thin but strong limbs. Its head had a raised, wing-like crest on either side of its head, framing its piercing, red eyes. It had raised, circular white spots on its slick skin found on its knees and elbows. The webbing between its fingers and toes was a deep ocean blue while its long tongue, which it wore like a scarf, was a dazzling blood red. It slowly aligned itself into a rather rigid stance, it hands formed into blades as one arm was extended and the other was drawn across its chest while its leading leg was angled parallel with its lead arm and its back leg was bent slightly at the knee and pointed at a forty-five degree angle from its chest.
As Trieze's Blaziken stepped in front of him and slowly began to sink into the Ginga stance, his movements quick and precise like a dance, his blue flames leaving a ghostly blue after image in their wake. The three pokemon stared at each other for a moment, the world growing still from the intensity of their concentration before they rush forward, their fists and feet meeting with a thunderous crack.
And then the world exploded.
((Cue ending theme: Pokemon: Boy in chains))
Woo...this took a while . ... My muse died about halfway through it so I had a hard time finishing until she got a hold of some phoenix down ha-ha.
Anyways. Hope you enjoy. ^.^
