Prologue
In what could be presumed to be a back alley in some filthy city, a lone, young woman scrambled through a long series of crates and rubbish, clutching a large black-shrouded shape close to her body. Perhaps the reason for her frantic movement through the blackness, thick and dark as pitch, was her criminal history, for indeed she had one. And perhaps the certainty of this information raises the question, of what exactly is this mysterious shape. Stolen goods? Was she a thief? Or, was it a body.
The woman continued to leap through the inky shadows, unhindered by the weight in her arms and the lack of moonlight, which hid behind one of the sky reaching buildings so common to a city.
Or so it appeared. In truth, the woman was exhausted after having run all night, and now this abrupt spree of activity was taking its toll in the form of breathless heaving and tears pricking at her eyes, begging to be released. Her legs, burning with pain, shook and threatened to give out, but she could not stop. She could never stop.
A strong wind blew, whipping the matted hair from her sweating face and bringing just a bit of comfort to the slight figure. For a normal walker, or even jogger, this frozen gust would have been enough to send them fleeing for home, but none were around at this hellish time of night, and regardless of they normal folks, this woman had no shelter to speak of.
Finally reaching her breaking point, she staggered over a particularly large clump of unidentifiable material, nearly dropping her most important treasure. Realizing she would do more harm than good if she continued, the lady carefully leaned against a brick wall covered in grime, old gum, and varying types of graffiti (the most decadent picture loudly proclaiming 'FUCK YOU!').
The bundle in her arms appeared to move just slightly as she shifted it to a single arm, so she had the ability to brush back her damp bangs. For certain this time, the bundle in her arms shook; a shiver. The fabric was peeled away from that inside it, and, suddenly, the symmetrical, slightly chubby face of a child peered out. The girl, for it seemed that they too were female, smiled broadly at the woman, unfazed at her disheveled appearance. The woman smiled back at the younger, and the still blowing wind sent clouds fleeing across the sky, revealing the stars, the twinkling light of which illuminated the pair.
And it was in this light that the girl's eyes flashed red.
CZR: So... I unintentionally received a recommendation to watch Black Bullet. And now I'm actually in physical pain. Mainly because only the anime is watchable (because I can't find the novels or manga anywhere, and if anyone has links to these please share thank you) and also because THERE IS NO FANDOM. There are essentially no fanfics in this section and *Falls over on side, presumably dead*
Anyway, I can't guarantee how often (if at all) this will be updated, because I really prefer to write when I have all information. So I would love it if someone could give me summaries of future events (really big spoilers are fine, I don't even care at this point). If it's fine with anyone who may (or may not) be reading this, I might just follow the anime timeline (even though I didn't like it all that much- it seemed like they crammed way too much into such a short time. Or am I the only one who thinks that.)
Normally, I wouldn't be writing this, but I'm going through some kind of weird Kagetane withdrawal and since there's nothing to satiate me in the section I'm writing this for myself ^u^
Obviously, I don't own Black Bullet (because if I did, Kagetane would be in the spotlight a whole lot more) :D
Read, review, follow, and favourite; all those nice things, if you like it!
