Life stinks! I have to skate all the way to the bowling alley, because Paulette wouldn't give me a ride. As I'm skating up I see that loser Balmudo sitting alone in front of our hang out. Now I'm not stupid, but I am opinionated so I walk past him quickly to the door and when I have the door open and I'm half way in I scream, "Scum!" and I haul ass inside as he goes to get off his bike. I can hear him laugh and I just want to go back and say something else, but as a future pink lady, leader of the pink ladies might I add, I know better. I run in and look around until I see three of the T-Birds playing pinball, I run over to them and say, "Balmudo is out front and he is all alone!" I rush off to find Davey as Johnny pushes the pinball machine away from him. I don't hear the rest of what they say, because I'm do busy trying to find Davey. I start by looking at all the lanes I don't see him anywhere so I go to where all the tables are and I spot him sitting with some girl, I swallow my jealousy, and tap his shoulder and say, "Come on action out front." He looks at me questionable and says, "What?" I roll my eyes and say, "Balmudo is going to get his face mangled." He smirks and says, "Alright." And hops over the wall and rushes out to meet the other T-Birds as I hurry after him I hear some girl say, "Oh my gosh." And I roll my eyes thinking this is a long time coming. I follow Davey to the door and he rushes outside only Balmudo is not alone anymore Davey says, "Where is that rat face," and his words fade out as he realizes he's the only one out there with about fifteen enemy bikers. Balmudo grabs him and says, "You looking for a rat face mouse brain?" I begin to panic when another biker rides through and separates Davey and Balmudo. Davey starts pulling on the door at the same time I'm pushing on it trying to get him in. Finally we get him inside and watch as things unfold outside.
Everybody: ooh-woo, who's that guy?
Davey: He came out of the darkness in the middle of the night, blazing like a mother with a fist of dynamite.
Johnny, Goose, and DiMucci: He ain't fooling no one on that pile of chrome and steel burning up the pavement like he was some kind of wheel.
Balmudo and gang: He's looking for a rumble and some heads are gonna bust. He's going to take a tumble with one solitary thrust.
Pink ladies and Me: The only thing you guys are gonna do is eat his dust!
Everybody: Who's that guy?
Girls and me: Where did he come from?
Everybody: Who's that guy?
Guys: Hey, tell me, someone.
Girls and me: I never knew anyone could be so cool. Woo-ooh-ohh
Everybody: Who's that guy?
T-Birds: What's so amazin'?
Gang: Headlights and Tailpipes, his burners are blazing.
Pink ladies and me: Looks to me like he could really fly!
Everybody: Who's that guy? Ooh-woo who's that guy? Ooh-woo who's that guy?
Davey: He wears a pair of goggles like a man from outer space!
Johnny (Spoken): Ah Shut up!
Stephanie: It really doesn't matter that I haven't seen his face!
Balmudo and gang: We're going to wrap those handle bars around that neck of his!
Balmudo: The Punk is going to get it!
T-Birds: When we find out who he is!
Girls and me: If you're a man of mystery it really takes you far!
Everybody: Who's that guy?
Paulette and me: Where did he come from? (at this point for some reason I see Davey giving me a look and then he glares at the cool rider with the rest of the T-Birds. That was weird maybe Davey likes me too. Me Dolores Rebchuck. Nah I'm not that lucky.)
Everybody: Who's that guy?
Stephanie: Where can I get one? (Don't we all wish we knew where to get one. Our T-Birds aren't exactly bad asses now are they? Though they do try especially Davey! Focus Dolores!)
Pink ladies and me: Whoa-o-o
Everybody: Who's that guy?
Girls and me: On that motorcycle.
Pink ladies and me: Looks to me like he could really fly!
Everybody: Won't somebody tell me who's that guy?
The police show up and the fun is over the cool rider rides away and Paulette turns to me and says, "Pretty cool stuff." I smile and say, "The coolest." I look over and Johnny looks pissed and the T-Birds look agitated. Johnny wanting to show he still has control says very serious like, "Everyone inside. We bowl!" We all make our inside then we notice Steph stayed behind so Rhonda says, "Hey come on Steph." She says "I'll catch up with you guys in a few minutes ok?" Paulette asks, "Hey what's eating you?" Steph rolls her eyes and says, "Nothing." The pink ladies make their way back over to her and I follow the T-Birds stay put impatiently waiting. Expect of course for Johnny who stormed off, because we didn't all jump to follow his command. As we all lean on the car Sharon says, "You know Steph there's been talk." Rhonda interrupts says, "We haven't been talking, but there has been talk questioning your loyalty to the Birds." I nod because even I have heard the talk. Paulette the ever desperato she is, yes I'm aware she is my sister, but you have to admit she's desperate, says, "It doesn't mean you have to go steady with Johnny. In fact I think it's better for the both of you that it's over." Sharon looks at her then back to Steph and says, "Yeah, but the code does say that we're T-Birds chicks. At least until grad." She the runs back to DiMucci and says, "Let's go Louis." They make their way back inside as Steph says, "Yeah well maybe I'm tired of being someone's chick." I look completely baffled by her as I say, "Tired of being someone's chick?" Rhonda nods and says, "You feeling okay?" Then Goose says, "Yo Rhitta." And she pulls me with her over to Davey and Goose as she says, "Yo Goose!"
When we get over to Goose and Davey Goose puts his arm around Rhonda and I hook arms with Davey. As we walk in Goose says, "Those guys are Show offs." We walk in and see everyone else already at a lane so we walk over. I look at Davey and he looks bummed so I bump hips with him, or try to he is a little taller than me after all, he looks at me and I say, "Balmudo is so lucky that mystery guy saved him. You would have wrecked that loser. He looks at me hopefully and says, "You really think so?" I smile and stand on my tip toes and kiss his cheek then say, "I know so. Now come on we're bowling I'm standing in for Stephanie and we are going to kick your T-Bird butts!" he smirks at me and says, "You wish!" I laugh and say, "Ok let's make it interesting if we win you have to admit that I'm better then you at bowling." He laughs and says, "Ok and if we win then what?" I smile and say, "You decide." He smirks and says, "You have to admit that the T-Birds are the best and I'm a better bowler than you." I smirk and shake his hand as I say, "You're on!" We started bowling, but Steph decided not to play she was pretty distant. Paulette told us the mystery guy offered her a light and a ride, but had to bail, because of the cops. That explains why Johnny is so pissed. He obviously say this, he is so jealous and it is so clear to everyone, but him that Stephanie has moved on. Even Goose can tell and well it's Goose. We continued to play and unfortunately for the T-Birds won.
After we turned in our shoes and we were making our way out to go home Davey comes up to me and says, "Well?" I roll my eyes and say, "Fine! The T-Birds are the best! And you Davey Jaworski are a better bowler then I ever will be!" He smirks and says, "That is more like it! How about I walk you home?" I look at him in surprise he always, always rides with Goose. I recover as quickly as I can and say, "Sure." He nods and says, "Let me just go tell the guys meet you out front." I nod and walk outside fanning myself my crush did not just offer to walk me home did he? I know Michael walked me home, but I know it was a sympathy thing. He likes Stephanie and I like Davey so it's not like I'm cheating, but is Davey doing this out of sympathy too? Ugh this is going to bug me! No I'm just going to take this one step at a time if he likes me he'll do something and if he doesn't he won't, it's that simple. It takes a minute, but I finally feel calm.
I stand there for another minute and then out comes Davey, with a smile as he looks around and spots me. He notices my skateboard in my hand and takes it from me then offers me his arm. I of course take it and we start walking towards my house. Our walk starts off in silence and out of nowhere he asks, "What do you think of Steph not wanting to be someone's chick anymore?" I look at him seriously and say, "I think she's crazy! I would love to be someone's chick especially a T-Birds! I mean I am fifteen after all I'd be crazy not to! I can't wait till I'm the leader of the pink ladies. I'll have the hottest T-Bird boyfriend!" His smirk dropped and he seemed deep in thought and he asked, "SO there is a T-Bird you like right now?" Oh shit! I did not plan for this oh no! What do I do? I guess I'll play it off, I smile and say, "Yeah I do. He's so cool and cute." He looks defeated as he says, "Johnny?" I roll my eyes and say, "I'll leave Paulette and Stephanie to deal with his ego. I have way better things to do then babysit Johnny and his ego all day every day." He laughs a little then his face falls again as he says, "DiMucci?" I shutter and say, "Seriously the horn dog who's so desperate to sleep with Sharon it's sad. No I'll pass on saying no every five seconds." He still looks bummed as he asks, "Goose?" I laugh out loud this time, "You're joking right I would lose my mind if I were anything with Goose. He's a little on the slow side, bless his heart." He looks confused then says, "So wait that leaves," I cut him off and say, "That leaves you. You're the T-Bird I like Davey. I thought it would be obvious." He looks shocked, but not repulsed so that's a good thing. Slowly a smile creeps on his face as he says, "I like you too Dolores I just thought the age difference might bother you." I roll my eyes and say, "Oh yeah the fact that you're three whole years older than me is awful. Of course the age difference doesn't bother me." He pulls me into a hug than picks me up and spins me around. When he sets me down he kisses me right on the lips and as soon as he pulls away I let out an involuntary squeal.
He looks at me in confusion then a look of understanding hits his face as he asks, "Was that your first kiss?" I nod my head as I look down trying to hide my blush. He puts his hand under my chin and pulls my face up so we're looking in each other's eyes and he says, "Don't be embarrassed. I like that I'm your first boyfriend." I giggle a little than wrap my arms around his neck and say, "Now Mr. Jaworski to be my boyfriend you have to ask me." He smiles then wraps his arms around my waist and says, "Well Ms. Rebchuck will you go steady with me?" I let out a laugh and say, "I'd be honored Davey." We kissed again and it was one of the most magically moments of my life and I was so glad it was going to be happening over and over again. He smiled at me then he looked hesitate as he said, "Um I don't want you to think I'm embarrassed of you or anything, but can we keep this secret for a little while until I find the right way to tell the guys? You know how they can be." I nod my understanding and he's right I know exactly how they can be. I say, "That's fine. It won't be forever just for now and I know how they can be. They are pains in the ass." He nods and smiles and says, "Yes they are, but I promise I'll try my best to tell them tomorrow I don't want to hide you long, some other guy might come scoop you up and I'd have to kick his ass." I smile at his jealousy and say, "Of course you would sweetie. As much fun as I'm having I really need to go inside and you need to go meet the guys." He looks shocked and he asks, "How'd you know I had to meet the guys?" I smile and say, "I'm your girlfriend it's my job to know things." He laughs a little and says, "I guess it is." I kiss him again with a smile than I say, "Go meet your friends sweetheart I'm going inside." He kisses me again and says, "Good night Dolores. See you tomorrow."
I smile as he starts walking back down the road and into my house. My parents are on some business trip for dad again. They always leave Paulette and I home alone which is why Paulette is so desperate for attention bless her heart. I love my sister, but she's kind of promiscuous. I'm so happy I finally got with Davey, he's just so cute. I make my way up stairs to change for bed. Once I'm changed into some pjs I here Paulette walk in. I know Davey wants to keep us a secret, but I'm going to explode if I don't tell someone so I walk down stairs to see my sister in the kitchen getting a glass of water. She turns to me and smiles as she says, "Hey little D. What's up?" I smile at her nickname for me, it's much better than woodchuck or upchuck. I say, "Paulette if I tell you something then can you swear not to tell anyone?" She looks really interested now as she says, "Of course little D." I smile and say, "You can't even tell the pink ladies. You can eventually just not now." She looks confused, but says, "I promise Dolores. Now what is it?" I squeal as I say, "I'm going steady with Davey!" She squeals then goes, "Wait Davey who?" I roll my eyes, "Jaworski! Duh!" She squeals later this time saying, "Oh my goodness! My baby sister is dating a T-Bird! I'm so happy for you this is so exciting! Why can't we tell anyone yet?" I smile at her enthusiasm and tell her, "He has to find a way to tell the guys. You know how they can be." She laughs and nods knowing exactly what I mean. She asks, "Did you kiss?" I nod and she squeals super loud and says, "Tell me everything!" So that's how we spent the rest of the night talking all about Davey and I. we even talked about her and Johnny too. I love time with my big sister I can't wait to tell the other pink ladies, they are also like my sisters. Tomorrow was definitely going to be very, very interesting. I can't wait!
