"Who are you?" they ask, mesmerised by his aura and his charm. He does not reply, but gives them an enigmatic smile that endears him to them more.
Even if some of them do not entirely believe in his ideals, they choose to become one of his followers. He becomes more than a man by sheer power of his charisma, and who would not want to serve him?
Before them, even he did not know the power he possessed. But once he finds out, it is easy to become obsessed with it. They worship him, and he believes he is God. After all, he has the power to choose who lives and who dies. Does that not make him omnipotent? He knows much, much more than those who are supposedly his teachers. Does that not make him omniscient? He cannot die, for he has endured it. Does that not make him immortal?
Yes, he is God, he tells them, and they believe. Is that not all it takes? Power, knowledge, immortality, and faith. He has all of them.
He is God, he tells himself, and chooses a more fitting name, a stark contrast to the mundane, filthy one he was assigned at birth.
He is God, he thinks, and it is too easy to forget otherwise.
