PROMPT: "I'm dying"
Jenny sat in her office, a letter in her hand and a glass of bourbon in the other.
Jethro Gibbs came in, and shut the door but she was too distracted, that she didn't notice.
He moved forward, "What's wrong?" he asked her, his voice softer than usual, but she didn't notice him.
He leant forward and snatched the letter before she realised, and quickly read it, but she made no move to take it back from him, she sat there with her head in her hands, as she begun to cry.
"What does this mean?" he asked, clearly worried.
She sighed, "I'm dying Jethro"
He moved and took her into his arms, "Can't they do something?"
She shook her head, "The cancers too far gone, Jethro"
He held her tightly, "You can fight it Jen, you're the strongest woman I know"
She cried softly, "I have nothing left to fight for"
He frowned, and cupped her chin making her look at him as he looked into her eyes, "I love you Jen, so don't you dare give up, fight for us"
She smiled through her tears, "Do you mean that?"
He nodded and kissed her softly, "We can get through this Jen, you can fight it, and I'm gonna help you every step of the way"
She smiled and kissed him back, "I love you too"
They would make love that night, and every night that the cancer didn't wear her out first.
They would go to a specialist and she would have chemo.
They would get married.
They would quit there jobs, Jen would quit because she couldn't fight the job and the illness at the same time, and Jethro quit to look after his wife.
She fought just like he said, and she would give birth to a little girl called Caitlyn, before she would lose her fight to cancer, that very same day.
There little girl was the spitting image of her mother, and Jethro would raise her, and neither would forget the most important woman to ever touch their lives.
