Although I got love on my other one-shot, I just had to write this...
"I'm thinking that maybe I should get a job here."
Lois spun around, almost hitting him in the face as she walked along the corridors of the Daily Planet. "To do what? Spy on your cousin?"
"She doesn't know what she's getting into." He waved her off, knowing deep down Lois would (and could) never understand but having hopeful optimism deep down that she could read between the lines.
"She looks like she's doing just fine to me." Lois responded indicating to where Kara was, hanging on Jimmy Olsen's every last word.
Lois whistled to the boy with the overly captive audience. "Hey Olsen, we're going to need to get a move on if we want that interview."
From over his shoulder Kara glared at her. She knew this girl was going to be trouble… from the first moment she laid a hand on her ship.
Lois strode over and pulled Jimmy's arm, to yank him away on a story with her. Ever since the editor told her to have pictures she'd been keeping him around… never letting him stray to far, but before she had a chance to pull him along further she was jolted backwards.
Clark put his head in his hands as his cousin stood over Lois.
"I would have thought Kal.. ark would have warned you before. Stay away from my stuff."
Jimmy blushed as she grabbed him possessively and Clark bent to help Lois up.
It actually felt good to have a girl as possessive as he sometimes felt he'd been with Chloe. Almost as if it was a two way street for once.
"Jeez! What do you feed this girl? Milk from the farm? Smallville and it's radioactive cows?" Lois brushed herself off and muttered half to herself.
When she'd finally straightened up she looked Clark dead in the eye. "Ok, Smallville. You have my approval. I'll talk to Greg about getting you a job."
I don't remember if the new Editor is "Greg" but I think it was something like that and I'm too lazy to look it up.
Anyway, this was something I was toying with after 702 "Kara" too. I've very excited for the Jimmy/Kara action.
It's painful to have to wait 2 weeks!
I'd be keen to write more if I got reviews... but if not... meh.
