Chad was speeding to the set of "Mackenzie Falls" when something came at him from the middle of the road. When he tried and failed to stop, his life flashed before him. Sonny Munroe popped into his mind. For his 18th birthday she had given him a ring that he never took off. He clung to the thought of her dancing around him and encouraging him to flirt with a girl, who she obliviously didn't realize their multiple resemblances. Then the car crashed and that's the last he saw of the conscious world.
Sonny and the rest of the cast of "So Random" found out shortly after the accident happened. Marshall told them that Chad's Porsche had been totaled and Chad was knocked out by the impact. The other driver hadn't been so lucky.
Sonny immediately ran to her car to get to the hospital. He was at the one closest to set. She wasn't allowed in until they were sure he wouldn't be a danger to himself or others once he came to. He had multiple cuts on both arms that hadn't been caused by the crash. This made Sonny worry even more. She and Chad had grown to be best friends and she was afraid of losing him. Something foreign stirred inside her but she ignored it and sat down to wait.
When Chad woke up he saw nurses and doctors going haywire and running tests on him. The cuts Chad thought They must have seen them! That's when Chad tried to sit up and doctors huddled over him. With all the strength he could muster, Chad said "I need to see Sonny Munroe."
