I'm not exactly sure of the feeling I was going for here- it started out as something vaguely romantic but I ended up going in some other direction. So however you interpret it is fine. To those who are curious: kyrielle poetry follows an a-a-b-B c-c-b-B et cetera pattern. This is not strictly kyrielle, therefore, because I adjusted the refrain line ("B") in ways I saw fit for my style. However, this is one type of poetry I actually enjoy quite a bit, haha.
Her kindness leaves him mystified,
Yet all too soon it seems she lied
For the girl rejects a gift, then two,
Despite his sounds that mean "I want you."
...
In him churns something like chaos
But no one can tell that he's lost
Only the girl who forgives everything he can do
Despite his sounds that mean "I want you."
...
He's the love of lust and greed and pain
Tries the same solutions again and again
But with her most of those thoughts can subdue
Except his sounds that mean "I want you."
...
Still, it's impossible to buy her heart
And her body and soul cannot be apart
He's completely at a loss what to do
He only has sounds that mean "I want you."
...
Inhuman monster never sees
Too set on gnashing his own teeth
Her mind already has a love that's true
Despite his sounds that mean "I want you."
...
Now there's this pain of being alone
So he steals and he takes what others own
But one more gift, and then evil he'll spew
Though his sounds may still mean "I want you."
