It's been a long time since I've posted anything so I'm happy to present a new oneshot! I wrote this in just a few minutes verrry late at night so i haven't proofread it or anything. This is just a super short fic using one of the prompts from my prompts app. Hopefully I can get back to writing more. Anyway, please enjoy the fic!

Prompt: Write about the color red.

'What a productive use of time,' thought the Renegade sarcastically. 'My skills would be put to better use hunting down the Chosen, not looking for some stupid escaped kid.'

An annoyed sigh from his companion was evidence enough that the thought was mutual. But orders were orders, and an escaped kid needed to be caught.

As they entered the hub room before the prison, his companion's impatience hit its peak and he burst in with a roared "Where is he? Where's that kid in red?!"

Red. That was the only description the leaders could bother to give them. No hair color, height, apparent age, whether he was fat or skinny, if he was armed and dangerous. No, nothing to go by but 'kid in red.'

The kid was good at hiding, it seemed, because there didn't seem to be any trace of him in the room.

"Go check the other cell. Maybe it was a false alarm."

Of course, they'd be the ones called in for that, too. A minor system malfunctions and everyone panics. The leaders acted like some high-ranking angel of Cruxis was going to cut everyone down and blow the place up. And all over a kid.

The whoosh of the automatic door signaled his companion's return.

"He wasn't there either," he reported disappointedly.

The Renegade frowned. Waste of time, indeed. But even a boy dressed in red wouldn't simply vanish. He had to be in the building somewhere.

"That's strange. How could we miss him when there's only one passage?" his companion continued, musing to himself.

But the Renegade shook his head. He didn't have time to worry about a random kid in red when there was a dual-world-dominating-evil-organization to stop.

"Let's head back."

The Renegade really began to wonder just what the leaders were thinking. How much could a kid in red really matter?
