Super Sonic held out his hands towards an uncertain Silver.

The pale hedgehog, trembling, slowly reached for the glowing gloved hands and fingers interlocked. A wave of energy washed over Silver, tingling through every

fiber of his being. It felt warm and invigorating. Without looking away from Sonic, Silver knew he too was bathed in the same golden light of chaos energy as his

friend.

He closed his eyes for a second. Then, in a sudden uncontrolled motion, and against every sane voice in his head, Silver launched himself forwards and kissed

Sonic. Soft puckered lips met hardened grin with a gentle smack.

Sonic jerked his head away almost immediately and stared blankly at Silver. What the...? His body froze rigid, heart pounding. His mind raced through what

seemed like a million questions. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before realizing his throat had gone dry and his vocal chords had abandoned him.

Silver stared into Sonic's confused eyes. His whole body quivered with adrenaline thanks to the chaos energy and the hasty act of passion. Sonic continued to

stare back, his goldfish-like expression unchanging. Silver's jaw dropped a little in remorse as a large portion of his reasoning began to tell him it had been a

mistake to make such a bold move on the blue hero. Why had he allowed himself to do that? But had it not felt like Sonic had kissed back a little just before he'd

pulled away? No. Silver stopped himself from developing that idea any further and shoved it straight out the back door of his mind.

The silence, it seemed like an eternity but in reality probably lasted four seconds at most, broke. A mechanical roar echoed through the tall dense rocks that

surrounded them and immediately yanked their minds back to the dangerous situation they were presently in.

'Time to kick some mega butt!', Sonic declared a little too gleefully, his voice seeming suddenly very loud in his own ears. Silver, guessing Sonic was probably

very grateful for the distraction, let out the long breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in.

Super Sonic nodded towards their destination and shot off like a golden bullet. Super Silver followed almost instantaneously. Within seconds they were gone,

shooting stars on the horizon. Two heroes heading off to war. Two minds thinking the exact same thing; 'whatever just happened will have to wait until after the

battle'
