A drabble I wrote after watching 'Last Dance'. Why? Because I ship them hard and the mere thought of them with someone else makes me want to go lethal. Unbeta'd.
"You decent?" Jules asked as she rounded the corner of the locker room.
Sam was standing in front of his locker, pulling his shirt over his head, back towards her.
"Yeah, but you know, if this is going to become a habit…" He said as he turned but she interrupted him, hands raised.
"No. No… I just… I wanted to apologize for back there, in the car earlier. That was uncalled for."
Sam sighed. "Yeah, but you know…"
"Officer Braddock, you have a visitor at the front desk." Winnie's voice announced over the intercom.
He sighed again and they exchanged a look before he charged passed her into the hallway.
After a deep breath she followed him out.
"There he is." A voice suddenly echoed through SRU Headquarters.
"Drew!" Sam called out as he jogged up to the man standing in the lobby and bear hugging him.
"Hey buddy." The other man said as he clapped him on the back.
"I thought I called you, said we had to reschedule."
"Yeah sorry bud, no can do. You got out of the dinner with the missus, but we're going out for a drink. What's that I hear about you saving Toronto anyway?"
"Lies." Jules responded as she joined them in the hall.
"My my Sammy boy, so that's why you decided to stop being a war hero and become a city cop. No offence."
"Offence taken." Spike said as he, Wordy and Lou joined them at the front desk. Sam smiled as he extended a hand to introduce them.
"Drew, meet Team One; Jules, Spike, Wordy and Lou. Team one, this is Drew. We did a few tours to Afghanistan together."
"A few? Buddy, we're like brothers. So why don't you introduce me further to this wonderful young lady?"
"Part of the team Drew." Sam said as his smile tightened a little. "And the team is family."
"And you don't mess with family." Drew acknowledged as he nodded.
"I'm sure it's my loss." Jules assured him amused.
"Still, I can see why Sammy here joined 'The Team'."
"It's because of the cool pants. They're all here for the pants." Greg said as he and Ed joined the party too. Drew laughed as he waved Sam off.
"Okay, well off with those pants, bud. We've got women to woo, bars to visit and bottles to empty. "
"I don't know D, some of us have to work for a living."
"Oh, get out of here!" Ed said as he threw his towel at Sam's retreating back.
"Five minutes!" he called to Drew over his shoulder.
"Since when does it take you any less than ten, princess." Drew called back as the door to the locker room closed.
"Since he got trained by us, city cops." Jules shot back as she passed him on her way to the exit.
"Wooo…Feisty. I'm telling you, the pants has nothing on you."
