Best Friends

Rose sighed as he listened to his music: the loud lyrics and melody drowning out everything outside of his room as he tried to work through his thoughts.

How could this possibly have happened?

He wanted to crank the music up higher, just to knock his senses back to normal, but that would risk ruining his new stereo, and that would be bad. But he couldn't just stay like that for the rest of his life.

What made him like that person anyway?

Maybe it was those cool sunglasses they always wore, or the wild hairstyle they had? Or was it just because they had been best friends for the longest time that his feeling towards them had evolved to a whole new level?

He didn't want to feel that way towards his best friend! He didn't want to be in love with his best friend! He didn't want to go up to him and tell him that he loved him and risk losing everything that could be called a relationship, whether it be a loving one or just a friendly one. And than life at the vaizard household (it's not really a household… It's too chaotic to be one…) would be too awkward, and than the other vaizard would be asking questions as well. And that would just cause problems: many, many unwanted problems.

But not doing anything would just make him act awkwardly and rise up questions anyway, and his family would drag the answer out of him sooner or later.

He was cornered and had no way to go.

So what if he was in love with Love?

Rose and Love were best friends; and as things usually go, best friends always seem to fall in love with each other at one point or another.

If only Rose knew how Love would take this…

If it were all going to work out, he would just go to Love and tell him right than and there. But there was always the risk that Love wouldn't feel the same way and Rose wouldn't have his friend anymore.

Being in love was so exasperating, sometimes…

He stood up and walked over to the large stereo and cranked up the volume a bit, the bass starting to hurt his ears just a little.

With another sigh, he sat back down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling.

The only thing he could do now is to wait… Wait until the right moment came for him to tell Love that he, his best friend, loved him.

Kensei rubbed his ears as he walked out of his room, which just happened to be right next to Rose's. He sighed out in aggravation and threw himself on the worn couch that the vaizard had dragged into their home several days ago.

"Sounds like Rose is thinking…" Lisa commented, not even taking her eyes off of her porn.

The faint sound of the beat of his music and the distinct vibration of the base tingled through their feet.

"I wonder what he's tryin' to figure out?" Love asked.

"I bet Rose likes someone but doesn't know how to tell them!" Mashiro said with a little giggle and a bright smile.

"Well, I say he should just go tell 'em how he feels and not beat around the bush." Love commented and turned back to his own manga, "That's what I'd do."
