Summary:

There's nothing like the joy of being a mother. I'll always remember how happy I felt. One day, while I was waiting for my lover and his wife, I witnessed a tender moment between a mother and child who were ahead of me. I tapped the woman on the shoulder and summoned the courage to ask, "What's it really like to have a child." A smile spread across her face and her eyes teared up, "It's like falling in love ... only better." She was right. The intimacy between my son and I is incredible, the bond of love and trust, a constant source of joy. My son taught me how to love, how to be a mother and I used these lessons to transform myself from a self-involved young woman, into a humane human being. Motherhood is the journey of a lifetime, an opportunity for personal growth. I'll always be thankful to the two people who gave me this opportunity.
