"Seriously dude, where did you get a rocket launcher? I searched this entire building looking for a way to get rid of the missile and you just show up with a rocket launcher." Kid Flash waved his arms around emphatically.
Robin tossed the aforementioned launcher to the ground at his feet.
"I- I..."
The rest of the team surrounded the arguing friends. Kaldur raised an eyebrow at the boy wonder's stuttering.
"I can't tell you."
"Why not?" Superboy growled from over the speedsters shoulder.
"I-I just can't."
"That isn't an answer. You already won't tell us your name and it isn't like it's that big of a deal." KF retorted.
"If it's not a big deal why do you care?"
"My best friend materializes from the rafters with a rocket launcher and he won't say where it's from. If you can randomly make weapons of mass destruction appear out of thin air I would like to know about it!" Kid Flash shouts near hysterics.
"I'll tell you at the cave." Robin compromises.
"Why not now?"
"Because, Kid Idiot," Robin drawled crossing his arms. "We're still surrounded by tied up criminals who may be concious. I am not spilling secrets where just anyone can hear."
"Fine. But you had better not run away as soon as we get there." Kid Flash concedes.
^&^^linebreak because I'm lazy and don't want to write boring getting to the cave stuff^^^^^
The cave had fallen silent. They had gotten back from the mission, been debriefed and were now sitting around the kitchen table waiting for Robin to start talking.
"I...I don't even really know how to explain this... ever since I was little I could just... put things in this dimensionally transcendant...storage space that I create just by thinking about it..."
"You have a superpower?" M'gann asks with a smile. "I don't understand why you wouldn't want to tell us that."
"Why didn't you tell me before now! You knew about my superspeed since day one and you're telling me three years after we met?!" Wally stands abruptly. M'gann's smile slides of her face at the anger radiating from the redhead.
"You introduced yourself as Kid Flash. The speed was obvious." Robin stated flatly.
"I don't care you still could have told me! I thought we were friends!"
"We are... I just... didn't think it was important." the bird dropped his chin to his chest.
"Why would you think any of your skills would be unimportant?" Kaldur asked leaning forward slightly. "as a team it is important for us to know these sorts of things."
"I know but..." he paused. "I'm on a team with someone who can morph into who or whatever they want, can communicate telepathically, and move things telekinetically; someone who can run faster than sound travels, has speeded healing, and a fast comprehension level; someone who can perform certain atlantian magics, controls water, talks to fish, and has gills; and superboy!" Robin glanced at the silent clone, "Superboy is mostly indestructable, has superstrength and should in time develop the ability to fly and use laser vision... and I am just the kid with the Mary Poppins belt who crawls through vents!"
"Mary Poppins?" m'gann mused.
"You should never feel inferior just because you are different, my friend. You have acomplished much more than some of us in spite of being human." Kaldur talked over her.
"I know, but... all my life there's always been someone better... and as a crimefighter and compared to you guys it just didn't seem like much." Robin finally looked back up. "I am sorry I kept it from you though."
"It's alright dude." Wally smiled mischievously, "Could you make one big enough for a refridgerator? Because that would just be awesome."
…...end. For now. I might write more..
