POWER
There is a power deep inside,
One not staved off by empty eyes.
It is within us all the day,
A dream, a heaven, a place to stay.
It dwells in all at darkened hours,
Keeps us safe, gives of powers.
There is a strength within us all,
A will to live, to never fall.
There is a word within our hearts,
A place of rest, reprieve and doubt.
It's a life we weren't sure we'd live,
A dream stolen by fates cruel twist.
It's a love that leaves us somehow stronger,
A soul that gives us all its power.
It's a loss we're sure we can never face,
A love left lost into empty space.
Within us all there is a power,
A world, a dream, a darkened hour.
A place we can go to hide,
A place that's warm at safety's side.
It's a place were battered souls can lie,
A place were hearts can finally fly.
It's a strength that keeps us everyday,
A will to face the rising dawn.
It's a tragedy we won't soon forget,
A though that plagues us till our final rest.
It's a power, a purpose we cannot change,
A deep rooted love that was not in vein.
It's the power that wakes us to the day,
A power that shows us how to pray.
For it's a power that was born from our deepest loss,
But a strength that shows us not all is gone.
It's the memory of those left behind,
Those lost along the paths of life.
It's the memory of what we loved,
That gives us the strength to carry on.
