Right, hope this works; it's my first attempt at writing from my phone. My laptop is downstairs, and I wanted to get this out. I'm in a bit of a mood. Enjoy!

He watched her, eyes gentle, from afar.

She was standing in a crowd of lively, vibrant humans, but she was so very, very, alone. He knew what would have just happened for her, how painful the past few months would have been. How painful this part of her life would have been. He also knew she wouldn't know him, not yet.

But he didn't care.

A subtle movement of his screwdriver had the music morphing into a new song; her favorite, if memory served. Her eyes flashed softly with recognition and confusion, but no other response was there; she was just as resigned as ever to loneliness.

With six calculated strides, he had slipped through the crowd, and was by her side. Just as she began to turn, his hand was on her waist, and they were dancing easily. He knew from experience exactly what to do in order to guide her around the make shift dance floor, and any inhibitions she might have had of a stranger making presumptions were gone as he spun her out and pulled her tightly to him once more.

Throughout the song, her eyes never left his, and they spun though the gawking onlookers, oblivious to anything but themselves and the music that surrounded them.

And then the song wound to an end, and his hand was at her neck, sliding gently to cup her cheek.

Their lips met with a practiced ease, something she could not begin to understand, not yet.

It was chaste and too short for either's liking, but perfect in it's own way.

Her eyes closed in wonder, and he was gone, disappearing into the trees that surrounded the yard.

The world was silent for a brief moment, his and hers, as their lives returned to chaos, their tiny moment gone, saved only in their memories.

The girl was surrounded by haughty questions and demeaning assumptions, while his was filled with the smiling but curious face of his companion, ready to go on another near meaningless adventure.

But it was worth it, because for a brief moment, neither had felt so very alone.

...

There it is! Sorry for my lack of updates lately, I think I'm back in the writing mood. Please Review!
