Chapter 1- The Beginning
It was 21 years ago when the Goddess Hestia made a wish by the Hearth. She sat alone, as she usually does watching her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews discuss business regarding their demigods, and their relationships with the mortals. Her family never notices her. Always forgotten. She gazes into the fire flickering in the Hearth and Says " I wish I had demigods of my own….one would be enough. A love recognized by one." She whispers as she watches her hand flicker in and out of existence. "Soon it may be me that the mortals forget next, I'll join Pan quickly at this rate," she thinks to herself. Long after the the meeting was over and all the Gods went to their respective domains, did Hestia finally retreat to her secret place. Only one other God knew of this place and that was her beloved younger brother Hades. Hestia walks along the secret grove reminiscing about when her brother gave her this gift, it was after she gave up her seat on the Olympian council for Hades to have. Although Zeus gave the seat to his son Dionysus instead.
Hestia was walking through the corridors of Mt. Olympus when Hades approached her. " Sister, would you come with me… there is something that I would like to show you" Hades said awkwardly with a grimace on his face as he looked away from his sister's eyes. "Of course brother, where are we going?" Hestia asked and she turned her amber eyes towards her brother. " It is a sort of….thank you gift….for giving up your seat on the council for me...Although our dear brother stopped your gift" Hades replied with an eye roll after mentioning Zeus. Hades reached out for his sister's hand and shadow traveled them to a secret grove. When they reached their destination Hestia opened her eyes and seen a pomegranate tree stood next to a small cabin, flowers of all kinds ranging from Roses to Gardenias as well as colors. " The flowers were Persephone's ideas...she planted them herself… the pomegranate tree was also her idea. She said it made it more personal...this cabin is yours, you will never have to give it up for anybody nor will you ever be asked to leave inside there is another gift but I cannot stay...duties in the Underworld," Hades rambled nervously as Hestia wandered around looking. She turned back to him and said, " Thank You brother, it is beautiful, give my gratitude to Persephone as well".
After she watched her brother leave Hestia wandered around the grove before making her way inside the cabin and immediately seen the most beautiful hearth. Molten Gold with Amber engravings, a soft fire burning with a steady rhythm almost like a heartbeat.
Hestia let her memories fade and returned her mind to the present where she was looking into her hearth at the cabin, enjoying the pulse of fire beaming from the center when the air became still, the flame still pulsing with life, silence echoed through the grove and Hestia found herself feeling fear. A strong aura emerged from a portal in the far side of the room causing Hestia to gasp for air, she coughed up some inchor and the portal closed. In its place stood an entity older than the Titans themselves. Chaos. The creator.
