I am a special type of pathetic.

My palms are sweating, my knees are shaking, and I'm hiding in a broom closet.

The things this girl does to me.

It's got to be safe to come out now; it's been nearly an hour.

The door creaked. Damn you door.

"Hey mate!"

Shit, it's Al.

"H-hey buddy."

He's staring at me. Why is he staring at me?

"You okay Scorp?"

"Pssh, course I am. I'm cool, I'm so cool."

I'm so not cool.

"Sure…"

He's still staring at me? This isn't good.

"Alright…come on Scorp, let's go get dinner."

Food is good. Dinner sounds like a plan.

Food is not good. Dinner sounds like a horrible plan.

She's here. She right there, sitting at the table with her cousins and little brother. Usually she sits with her Ravenclaw friends, but it seems family won today.

"I think I'll sit at my own table mate. Yours seems a bit crowded."

Albus ignores me and starts pushing me towards the Gryffindors, closer to iher/i every second.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no…" I mutter, shutting my eyes.

"What is your problem Malfoy?"

"You'll laugh. Or hit me."

He will.

"Try me."

Stupid best friend with his stupid stubborn personality.

"It's Rose."

He stops walking. I probably scared him.

"What about her?" His voice is tense. Rose is his favorite cousin, so he is really protective of her.

When Liam McClaggen tried to ask her out last year (something her family found very amusing for some reason), Al broke his nose.

You can understand why I'm freaking out.

"I can't…be around her right now."

Al's glaring at me. Why is he glaring at me?

He pulls me off to the side of the Great Hall, his eyes narrowed.

"Why, exactly, can't you be around her? What's wrong with her? Are you too pureto be around her?"

"Woah mate, of course not!"

Contrary to popular belief, I am not my father. Not only am I the first Malfoy to be in Ravenclaw (or any house other than Slytherin) but I'm not prejudice like him. Most of the people in my house, including Rose, are half-bloods, and we all get along splendidly.

"Then what is it?" Al growls.

"I like her," I mutter, so quietly even I could barely hear myself.

"What?"

"I like Rose."

"I still can't hear you mate."

"I'm in love with Rose, alright!"

It's quiet.

Too quiet.

Especially for a Great Hall packed with teenagers.

I risk turning around and really regret it.

It seems that everyone, including the teachers, heard my exclamation.

Especially Rose.

She's standing now. Staring at me, shock evident on her face.

So now I'm running.

All the way back to my common room.

It's empty. Perfect. Now I can off myself without any witnesses.

Is it possible to do iAvada Kedavra/i on yourself? Maybe I should go Muggle and jump from the Astronomy Tower. Maybe…

"Scorpius?"

Fuck. My. Life.

I refuse to look at her. I'll just keep staring at the fire.

"Yes Rose?"

"You…you like me?" I resist the urge to roll my eyes, knowing that while brilliant, Rose can be a little slow on the uptake.

"Yeah Rose, I do. A lot. I love you, okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I think it is okay."

This girl is going to…wait, did she say okay?

"What do you mean 'okay'?"

"I mean okay, I love you too."

Now I can turn around. And there she is, looking absolutely breathtaking.

Her robe is slipping off her shoulder, revealing her casual weekend wear, a tank top showing off patches of deliciously freckled skin. Her face is flushed, and her gorgeous red hair is falling out of its braid.

Maybe kissing her wasn't the best move ever.

She doesn't seem to be complaining though.

Different than my usual style, but I had a lot of fun with it. Scorpius is probably my favorite Next Generation character, I adore writing him. Please review and let me know what you thought!
