So what I did here is a little challenge to myself based loosely on a challenge I'd heard of somewhere else. What I did was I set my player on shuffle and wrote a drabble for each of the first five songs that popped up. No skipping allowed, and I could only write for the duration of the song (that was the hardest part). I also challenged myself to use one line from the song but that just seemed to come naturally. So anyway, enjoy :)

I've Got All This Ringing in My Head, and None on My Fingers

They kissed for the first time under the streetlights of Twilight Town, clothed in black, ghosts in the darkness. It had been a simple thing, really. Unapologetic as a whole, all it took was a carefully placed hand on Axel's part - just on the nape of thirteen's neck - and the right look from Roxas, and they collided.
"Roxas." Axel whispered through the window screen, perched precariously on the ledge.
"Yeah, Axel?"
"Why?"
"Because." Roxas said, looking quite thoughtful. "The truth is worse than anything I could bring myself to do to you."

Famous Last Words

Underneath the stark white bedspread of their bedroom, they moved together, the light of Kingdom Hearts shining through the window.
Axel missed it. But he would live, he would go on. He couldn't lose his heart, could he? What heart? So Roxas was gone. He talked to himself, told himself, it was a lie, those words whispered in the dark. It was only that they were caught in the moment. He'd go on because he had to - because maybe if they had their hearts - maybe, maybe. Then maybe Roxas would.....
He would trace the boy's spine. Count each vertebrae and whisper those words, his hand measuring the rhythm of thirteen's breaths. He whispered those words, the I. love -
But he wouldn't say them again.
And all he said when Roxas left was -
"I know that I can't make you stay." The flick of a lighter. "But where's your heart?"

'Til I Collapse

The most important thing was to keep on going. There was blood everywhere, burns and fires smouldering under the frequent rain. The rain as frequent as all those things. But they kept going, the two figures appearing on the horizon - chakrams, keyblades, yeah, you don't fuck with the Organization. The Thirteenth Order.
Axel, his grin wide and feral, turning to Roxas. "I'ma rip this shit til my bones collapse."
"Or until your blackened heart stops beating?"
"Heart? Roxas, what heart?"
And they laugh, they laugh in the light of the dying embers, lips slicked in blood catching a quick kiss.
And they keep on going.

The Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You

"God, you're such - "
"Oh, shut the fuck up." Axel murmured, his hands clutching the fabric of the boy's band tee, silencing him with a kiss, teeth slicing through lip and nipping tongue. These New York kids were such fucks, weren't they? He pinned him to the wall and heard him moan, made him moan.
"You're - such - an asshole - such a - dick." The kid panted.
"Then pull the plug." He said, knowing this east coast fucker couldn't stop it now. "But I'd like to know your name."

I Don't Love You

"You're still a good for nothing I don't know!" Roxas screamed, his nails elicting three thin streams of blood from Axel's left cheek. God, when he - it looked like he was crying blood. "Why does it have to be like this? Why can't you just - "
"Just fix your fucking eyes and get out of here, Roxas. If you have to go."
"Axel, I didn't - look, it's just, I have to go, I - I'm sorry I hit you, I'm sorry I said that." He touched the cuts gently, light swelling from his fingertips to at least ease the pain.
The next night, he was gone.
