Night's Proposal

The night was deathly silent. The only sounds were our tranquil breathing and the crunch of leaves and twigs that we stepped on. We walked on for several minutes, passing different forks on the trail, before we switched directions and took a left on a path with decaying trees on either side. I grew more and more impatient by the minute, as he dragged me along with him. Then, finally losing all my patience, I tugged his arm back and forced him to look me straight in the eye.

"Emmett, please talk to me! Where are you taking me?" I yelled breaking the cold silence.

"I… I can't tell you right now Rose. You'll see soon though, we're almost there. I promise, please just trust me." He replied softly, and I felt foolish for yelling at him.

"Kay. Lead on Big Bear." I said, smiling and looking into his soft gold-bronze, and captivating eyes.

He then again, took my hand in his firm and comforting grasp and we walked on for a couple more minutes. Then, just as I got impatient once more, we emerged into the most beautiful and enchanting clearing I've actually ever seen, and ever entered.

Tall ferns encircled the round clearing, with occasional red and orange wild flowers stemming out from beneath. Dark, green grass grew on the entire clearing with dandelions filling almost every spot. Six tall cedar trees surrounded the meadow with bright green moss growing on the trunk. The pale moonlight streamed through the green canopy of trees, creating a Topiary Tint coloured pool of light.

Emmett pulled me through the trees and underneath the spotlight of moonlight. He turned around and stared at me with his innocent topaz eyes. He grinned and reached into the pocket on his jacket, pulling out a small box with a silver bow on top. He got down on his knee and I stared at him, shocked at what he was about to do.

"Rosalie Lillian Hale, I love you with all my life and I thank you for the new life that you have shown me. I have never met, and can't think, of a better, more perfect and tenacious person than you. You are the reason for my existence, and I love you for that. I can't find any other human way to express my feelings, without physical contact. I love you and I was wondering…Will you marry me? " he spoke with such earnest that I just jumped on him and showered him with kisses, gasping yes between each one.

I finally reached his mouth and kissed him full on with such passion that he chuckled against my lips. He swiftly slid the ring on my fourth finger and murmured "I love you" against my lips.

I sighed contentedly and said against his lips, "I love you too."

The End…
