A/N- Another conversation piece. This time between Mark and Mimi. They talk about the metaphorical shoe that is Roger. Yeah, had to get it out of my head. Don't hate me. Anyway, I needed some friendship between the two. Enjoy.
Disclaimer- I do not own RENT.
"What are you doing up?"
"Couldn't sleep. Plus, Roger wouldn't stop snoring."
"I feel for you."
"I swear he was a chainsaw in his past life."
"So now we were items in past lives? What about animals? Or even other people?"
"Naw. It's easier to compare some people to things we use in daily life."
"If you say so."
"I'm not kidding. Roger's easy. He's like... shoes."
"Shoes."
"Yeah. Shoes. Like a expensive pair of red stilettos that I saw in a store for weeks and really, really wanted but when I finally got them, they gave me blisters."
"But you still wear them?"
"Duh. There's no way I'm not going to wear my new shoes. Knowing me they were probably two months of rent or something."
"You do know you're talking hypothetically here, right?"
"Of course. But hypothetically or not, I still really like shoes, blisters or not."
"So you still love Roger, blisters or not?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"I cannot believe you compared Roger to a pair of pumps."
"I can't believe you call heels pumps. You sound like an old woman, Mark... Want to know what kind of shoe I think you are?"
"Not really."
"You're like a pair of comfortable, reliable sandals."
"Are they old?"
"Well I don't think they're exactly new."
"Isn't that just the greatest? I'm the old sandals that everyone has to wear as a last resort."
"Aw, they're not a last resort, Mark. At least you don't give blisters."
