Gabrielle sat in her bedroom. Fleur was home for a visit, and she was hiding. At one time, Gabrielle would have been eager to see her big sister. After all, they had always been so close, but not this time. She felt too guilty to spend time with Fleur.

She was the worst sister in the world; Fleur deserved better.

There was a light knock on her door and a familiar face peered in. "Gabby, what are you doing in here?"

"Spending some time by myself."

Fleur opened the door wider and walked into the room. "Why would you want to do that?"

Gabrielle shrugged, unsure of how she should answer.

"Gabby, I live in Britain now. With me visiting for only a couple of weeks, I thought we'd spend as much time as possible together."

"Well, you can't expect me to drop everything just because you're visiting," Gabrielle said in her best brat voice.

Fleur's eyes narrowed. "Okay, Gabby, what's going on?"

"What do you mean?" she asked, a beatific smile in place. She did her best to be the picture of innocence.

"I mean I know you, so I know when something's bothering you. So instead of trying to lie about what I know is true, why not just tell me what it is so we can both get on with our lives?"

Gabrielle thought about arguing, but she saw the seriousness, and the utmost certainty, on Fleur's face and knew there wasn't any point. She took a deep breath and exhaled with an undignified whoosh. And without any hesitation, she said, "I've betrayed you."

Fleur sat on the bed in front of her. "I highly doubt that."

Gabrielle nodded earnestly. "I did, though."

"What did you do?" Fleur asked.

Gabrielle bit her bottom lip. "I didn't actually do anything."

"Then how did you betray me?" Fleur asked with raised eyebrows.

"It was emotional betrayal."

Fleur blinked, but she still didn't understand. "Want to explain the how to me?"

It was the moment of truth. Fleur would hate her once she knew, but Gabrielle deserved the hatred. She deserved more than hatred, and Gabrielle would take whatever Fleur decided to give her. "I have feelings for Bill," she exclaimed in a rush.

Gabrielle thought about what kind of reaction she'd get. She thought she might get anger or dismay. Maybe even fear or disbelief. What she didn't expect to get was laughter, and that was what she was hearing.

"Can you please tell me what you find so amusing about me telling you I have feelings for your husband?"

Fleur wiped the tears off of her face.

Gabrielle stared, baffled and kind of amazed. It had been a long time since Fleur laughed so hard she cried.

"That's what's bothering you? You're not the first younger sister to have a crush on her older sister's boyfriend or husband. And you certainly won't be the last."

"What if it's more than a simple crush?" Gabrielle asked.

Fleur smiled. "Would you ever even considering acting on it?"

"Of course not," Gabrielle retorted.

"Then it's just a crush. If you were actually in love, you would at least consider doing something about it."

"So you're not angry at me?" Gabrielle asked hopefully.

"Of course not. I'm sure your feelings will go away soon enough. What you need is do is find yourself your own Bill, someone you connect with and love."

Gabrielle sighed, "That would be nice."

"And it will happen. Just give it some time," Fleur advised.

Gabrielle never thought she'd find her own Bill in the form of actual Bill's younger brother Charlie, but fate was a funny thing.
