I was watching the Lost Treasure of the Golden Squirrel, and I saw this little happening between Skipper and Private and had to write about it.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST LISTENING TO TAKE ME AWAY BY GLOBUS while reading this! It's incredible how well it goes along with the story.

Enjoy!

A Moment In : The Lost Treasure Of The Golden Squirrel - As Told In Angels Words -

Privates mind cleared. His urge to hold and pet the ducklings dissolved as he looked around. To his horror, they were speeding upwards, which was great, but...

His feet were half on the play form and half off as he realized he was on the very edge. The smoldering lava bubbled and boiled below him.

-Privates P.O.V.-

I struggled to push my foot off the edge, but I chose the wrong time. The rats plat form, along with all the treasures, tumbled into the lava below. The impact made the entire cavern rumble and shake.

My breath got knocked out of me as my foot lost its only grip, and my entire body fell. I shot my flipper up, desperately trying to catch the edge. My flipper caught fast, and I took in another sharp breath when I realized I was dangling over the bubbling, blindingly painful lava.

My grip was loosening, and I knew in seconds, I would be boiling in hot liquid fire.

-Skippers P.O.V.-

I watched as Privates feet lost contact, and he went tumbling off the edge. I gasped and shook my head, blinking my eyes to clear my mind. Forget the tanks, I told myself. Save the boy.

I hurled myself at the dangling penguin, and it felt like time itself was slowing down, to a point of stopping.

-Privates P.O.V.-

I'm so dead...

-Skippers P.O.V-

Can't let him die...!

-Nobody's P.O.V.-

Privates flipper slipped, and he felt himself falling. He closed his eyes tight, waiting for the burning heat, then the feeling of his life slipping away.

He gasped when he realized he wasn't falling. He looked up to see his leaders flipper in his own, his face scribbled with pain and determination.

Determination not to have him die.

Skipper gasped when he saw a eruption of fire below the small penguins dangling body. The lava was surging up, and if it hit the boy...

Skipper wouldn't forgive himself.

Private heard what sounded like a bang, then whimpered, looking up at Skipper with big blue saucers for eyes.

His message was clear : Please help.

Skipper mustered all his strength and pulled, yanking the youngers body up with him.

Just when they both hit the pavement, the lava surge hit them, sending them flying upwards.
