Based off the Tumblr thing where a person's heart glows when they meet their soulmate, here is a one-shot with the same thing happening to Sarah Tudor. (If you don't know who she is, she is the main character in my fanfiction, The Snowflake Princess.)

Why am I writing this? Two Words: WRITER'S BLOCK.

It's a lucky thing when royals have their hearts glow. With political marriages, it was very rare. But, it did happen. Always at the first touch, then when they were in proximity afterwards.

Her parent's hearts had always glowed when they were together.

The sharp blue of her father's glow, mixed with the soft grey of her mother's had always shown that their union was a sacred one. A special one. Especially since they were such opposites.

Her grandmother's heart had glowed once. Sarah had been lucky to see it. All of the royal children had been taken to pay a visit to their grandfather's grave. To pay their respects.

Margaret Beaufort's heart had glowed softly as she knelt before the grave. It was a dull red. But the old matriarch stood quickly after her heart started glowing.

Sarah still thinks she may have been the only one to have seen it.

Her heart hadn't glowed when she married Mark Anthony. While this disappointed her, she carried on. He was kind to her. Some women weren't given that with their non-soulmates. Kindness outside of the soulmate bond was lucky.

Castiel's had glowed when he met his wife. A bright orange. Eleanor's glowed a deep crimson.

Sarah returned to the court of her birth, 28 years old, and her heart had yet to glow.

"Your highness, I am here to escort you to your rooms." Her heart tingled as she gently tilted his head up, looking into his bright blue eyes.

"What is your name?" The tingling intensified, and his hand reached up to rub his chest.

"My name is Charles Brandon, your highness."

"Plain Charles Brandon, no sir, no title?"

"No ma'am."

"Well then, Mister Charles Brandon, shall we walk to my rooms?" He held out his hand, and she gently placed her own in it, before a bright green flash came from her chest. She glanced at his chest to see a dark gold glow. Their eyes met, and widened.

Is this what it was like?

The heart glow?
