Summary: Dru's hooked up with someone even worse than a Chaos demon.
Spike stared at the pair of them in shock. After that horrible chaos demon that Dru'd had an affair with, part of him wasn't entirely surprised. She was cheating again.
He'd come back from a night of hunting, and there, their limbs entwined on the ivory silk sheets that he'd found for his Princess, they sprawled. Her pale skin contrasting to the blue fur, her fingers caressing the round head... Revolting. There was no mistaking what they'd been doing.
"How could you do this to me?" He demanded, part of him howling that he should rip both of them into bloody shreds.
The blue figure turned, the wide mouth dropping open as stubby fingers pulled the sheet higher, covering naked bodies. "This doesn't look like a good time anymore."
"My Spike..." Dru's smile was wicked and mocking. "Isn't he charming?"
Glaring at the small creature, Spike could feel the growl vibrating in his chest. "Actually, I don't see the appeal."
"There's something about fur over skin..." She leaned closer, her body pressing against the back of her new lover. "I like it, and he's sweet."
"You..." The word hissed out, and Spike could feel his face changing, feel the sharp teeth.
"Somebody doesn't look hap-py..." The voice sounded a little wobbly, and far too cheerful.
Spike left the room, slamming the bedroom door behind him. He grabbed the booklet with his CD's, and the last package of cigarettes. His hands were shaking with rage and betrayal. She'd done it again. And she'd keep doing it...
No, she wouldn't. He wasn't going to put up with this any longer. Enough of catering to her every need and whim... If she could throw away a century of devotion like this, over and over... It was time to move on. Time to leave her behind.
Somehow, he'd manage without her. He could learn to live without pampering Dru, without...
God, he was miserable already. And it probably wouldn't really get better. But he wasn't going to stay and put up with that sort of thing any longer.
"Spike? Why don't you like SuperGrover?" Dru's voice rang out.
They stood in the hall, her hair falling over pale flesh like a shawl. Beside her, the furry blue interloper only came up to her ribcage, which had to give him a splendid view...
"I don't like anyone that I find in your bed." The words were a snarl, and he grabbed the keys to his car.
"Daddy used to be there a lot." Dru was pouting.
Spike growled, and walked towards the door, intending to leave this place and never come back. "I didn't like him either."
"Well... I don't think that went well." SuperGrover's voice was a bit softer.
"My Spike will get over it. He always does." Dru's voice held airy certainty.
Spike growled and slammed the door shut behind him. He didn't intend to 'get over it', and he didn't intend to ever be her Spike again. Stupid woman... Stupid muppet.
end Dru's New Love.
